Woohooer Error (never seen this)

Post by marstinson » July 7th, 2020, 12:43 am

I'm playing a new game in Hidden Springs. I mostly just ignore Woohooer aside from a couple of minor settings changes shortly after installing it years ago. This evening, however, I got a Woohooer Error message (who knew that Woohooer popped errors, much less scary ones?). It hasn't had any apparent impact on the game, but the idea that Woohooer even generated an error was strange enough that I needed to come ask about it. One of the Hidden Springs townies (Blake Grayson - blonde YA, lives in a cabin near the festival grounds) is apparently "Not Supposed to be In Game" (with bold font for emphasis). Neither of my sims even knows this Sim, so I'm doubtful that it's going to affect my current household at any time in the near future, though I do worry a bit about long term game stability. Any ideas on what gives with this one? Thanks.

Woohooer Error (never seen this)

This is almost as good, but not as depressing, as the NPC babysitter I once randomly found near the edge of the map whose current action according to Tagger was "Destroy Myself."

I don't suppose you might have a script error log file that we should be seeing to go with this unusual error? Or is it that you do have one, but this cryptic message is all that it says?

Woohooer Error (never seen this)

Post by igazor » July 7th, 2020, 2:10 am

Sorry to ruin what might have been be a fascinating backstory, but it's the swimming pool (or rather the name of the swimming pool object) that the sim is trying to use that should not appear in the game as I believe the lot on which this is happening is meant to be private, not that the sim shouldn't be there. And the reason that Woohooer got involved is that Blake is trying to Skinny Dip autonomously, that is indeed an action covered by the mod, but she is having routing errors probably left over from the prior game session while trying to do so. Doesn't sound very serious to me.

As long as we have you here though, it's time for your once every couple of years checkup. Several of your NRaas mods are outdated and really should be brought up to current levels to enjoy the latest bug fixes and feature enhancements.

Woohooer Error (never seen this)

Cool and thanks for the heads up on the mods. I'll go grab the newer versions as soon as I get out of my current game session.

Since it's the Port-a-Party Warehouse lot, I sent my Sim over to see what was what and there is no pool on the lot. There is the big water tank behind the bar (first and second floor), though, and a lot of Sims tend to like to take a dip in it, including a couple while my Sim was on the lot. I didn't have my Sim try the skinny dipping and there were no kids on the lot, but I can't think of a reason why it would throw an error other than the usual "well there hasn't been a problem for a couple of hours, so let's throw an error just to keep things interesting" that the game does from time to time. There is no ladder for getting in and out of the tank and my Sim got the little "afraid of drowning" moodlet when she jumped in, but I didn't see anything that looked out of place in any of the other instances of Port-a-Party that I've visited over the years. Oh well... time to get her out of the bar and back to pounding out that Romance novel she's been wishing about for a week or so.

The error was thrown one real time minute after your game session started. That's why I said that routing was probably left over from your previous game session and the sim was unable to continue whatever it was she was pushed to do at the end of the prior one. These kinds of things happen all the time, although granted the circumstances behind this one might have been a bit unusual.
