Where do the Sims find the KamaSimtra skill books?

Post by hedgekat » May 27th, 2015, 9:40 pm

I've put Kama Simtra back in my game and have it working well. Also added the skill books to my Package folder. Have sent sims to the bookstore and cannot find the skill books anywhere. Even bought a new bookcase thinking there might be one there. Nope. Can't find. I noticed the file is only 13kb. Could it be defective?

Are these Kimlupai's or someone else's -- there are a couple of versions available out there. I have kimlupai's, the file is 13kb, and am able to find them in the bookstore. Though I can check again once I get in-game to make sure they are still there. The household I'm currently playing needs something new to read anyway. :)

Did you clear cache files after installing? You could certainly re-download and try again to see if that helps.

If you like to cheat, you can get the books using DebugEnabler on a bookshelf and selecting "add skill books."

Sorry, forgot to report back here. The books are in the book store, under the Skills tab. The store has a nice endcap aisle display with some...uhm, I guess those are decor objects and my sims got sidetracked. :)

Just kidding, but I did remember upon seeing them that they are titled creatively. The first two in particular don't mention KamaSimtra, something about Elevators and "Size Doesn't Matter." Could the odd titles be throwing you off, perhaps?

No, it wasn't the titles. But I did find the problem. I went back to Kimlupai's site and redownloaded. And while there I read her description and instructions again. And found something I missed before or totally forgot. Careers mod. Came back to NRaas and found that page. I can remember reading about that mod before but didn't get it because I wasn't interested in the careers listed. Anyway I got the base mod and installed it and this morning sent a sim to the bookstore and found the books. Definitely creative titles. lol Now that family can fight over who gets to read the books first. Guess he should have bought more that one copy of the first book at least. Thanks for your help, igazor, and for your humor. I always enjoy reading your posts even if the topic has nothing to do with my game. Hmmm, just noticed the post I made last night is not here. Guess I forgot to hit the Post button, but it is irrelevant now.

Oh, I forgot the Careers base mod was required myself. That's one of those mods I take for granted and kind of assume that everyone has it by now (which is of course not accurate).

Glad you solved it and you're welcome! :)
