Sims go to Woohoo but don't

Post by KevinL5275 » April 13th, 2023, 4:45 pm

If I can add on here, I have a similar problem with teens.

I also searched this topic: post92831?hilit=SHARE%20BEDS#p92831

My teen sim and his IF-made-real can woohoo in the bed, but they cannot sleep together in the same bed. They were just romantic interests by kissing, but now they are full boyfriend and girlfriend with privileges ( :D ) and still cannot go to sleep together.

Is this a teen thing? Because he can share his mom's bed, but not his girlfriend's bed. I don't have SleepFreedom because I don't want to replace every bed in town, but I will do it if that is what it takes.

KevinL5275, I'm pretty sure it's because the two sims are considered unrelated, and a teen or younger sim can't share a bed with an unrelated sim regardless of their relationship status.

If you add SleepFreedom, you only need to replace the bed(s) you want your sims to be able to share with whoever. It doesn't bork the existing beds, it just doesn't fix the issue with sharing. I added SleepFreedom to a save after the fact, replacing beds as I went, and everything was fine.

Well crap, I already do have Sleep Freedom. I downloaded it again and replaced my file. Yes I did delete the 5 cache files. Lets see what happens.

Edit: Success! It works now! :)

Did not realize there was a reply to this. At the time of the attempt, both sides of the bed had at least 1 full square from it to the wall. I remember that no matter who got on the bed first, the other one would do the stomp animation. Because sometimes either sim made it on the bed first.

But I have recently installed SleepFreedom and I'll try it again with it if that makes a difference.

Did not make a difference. My sim got into bed, the other sim went to go on the bed, saw my sim on the bed and stomped. So I don't know if it's a WooHooer setting or potentially a SP setting that's making it not work for me.

By any chance, are your sims trying to sleep on the same side of the bed, as if the other side of the bed didn't exist for sleeping? I had a recent issue with that and no power on this earth could get them to sleep in any bed if it were in that particular spot. It was like that exact square on that one side of the bed was broken. I deleted and rebuilt the whole room (walls, doors, floors, objects, everything). No hidden jigs that I could find. Reset the hell out of everything. I suspected a hidden gnome so I purged all the gnomes. Bulldozed and replaced the lot. Tried everything, never could make it work. It was just a bad square. Some other things didn't work there either, like my sims couldn't paint at their easel at that spot. I ended up moving the bed out from the wall a half-space and putting a decorative thing behind it, but man that was a rough week. xD

(And yes, they had previously used that bed for woohooing, making the whole thing more perplexing.)

Need to confirm a couple of things here before we rule out the teens can't share a bed with (some not blood related sim) issue entirely.

SleepFreedom requires that any beds in place prior to the mod being introduced need to be replaced. It won't work on beds that were already there, although it seems you already know that part. The mod also works only on base game and EP/SP beds, not on custom content ones nor those from the TS3 store unless extra steps are taken by way of a Tuning Mod. Is the bed in question perhaps not from the base game or an EP/SP?

It the sims in question are both older than teens, then this is not the built-in age related restriction issue and SleepFreedoom is not going to have any impact.
