Everyone is Attracted to my Sims!

Post by junklex » March 3rd, 2022, 3:16 pm

Okay so I finally caved in and got Woohooer about a month ago, and it's been working fine. If I had any issues, I almost instantly found an existing thread that fixed it easily. However, there is one problem I cannot seem to find on ANY corner of the internet--

Every single person my sims interact with finds them hot. "I don't care what anyone says, you're hot!" to be specific. Now I've always loved the attraction system, with certain sims getting along better with people they're attracted to, but it wasn't this frequent AT ALL. I have no reason to doubt that this is because of Woohooer, since it's the only new mod I've downloaded in the past half year. Also, it fits the theme of the mod.

I don't plan on removing Woohooer, but this is really annoying. I know I'm great at making sims, but they can't possibly ALL be the sexiest thing on the planet :P If anyone's heard of this issue, or if there are any ideas on how to fix it, PLEASE let me know. Thanks much!

LOL...sorry, I was just remembering the first time I saw that on-screen and thinking, "What in the world kind of backhanded compliment is that supposed to be?" There's supposed to be other variations on that theme though, not the same line being generated for each sim they meet.

It's all coming from the Seasons patch redo of the attraction system, in other words this is EA's doing. It doesn't mean the other sim is really attracted to yours, it means that the game has decided these two sims have either never met until now or only just moved past 0 on their relationship scores and someone at EA thought we players are all in junior high school and want to see this nonsense -- it only indicates the potential for future attraction. So, for example, the message won't appear if there is an absolute zero chance of attraction, such as the sims being closely blood related or maybe one of them is underage or of a different orientation (gender preference).
(with apologies to the more mature junior high school sims players in our audience)

That you are seeing the message more often with Woohooer in play probably means that the attraction system is working in a more robust manner than it once was, but it isn't actually leaving these sims drooling for each other or anything like that. To get a sense of actual, real attraction to anyone in the room at any given moment, try running the Scan Room command on your active sim. My sense is that those who just blurted out the pickup line like that but don't really know your sim aren't going to score very high in the positive range with your sim, if they score above 0 at all.

I believe Shimrod has a mod at The Sims Asylum to stop the instant potential for attraction messages since so many players find them more than useless. I've left them in all this time because sometimes they are actually funny. My sim once got one from a robotic mummy who was guarding a tomb in Al Simhara and I learned that the mummy "appreciates other sims who work hard on perfecting their craft" or something like that just before he beat the tar out of my poor sim. Talk about fostering abusive relationships, just what was EA thinking! :)

The problem with this is that, yes, it happens to sims that never met, but it ALSO happens to sims they have met previously and already have an established relationship with, just haven't spoken to since after I installed the mod. For example, my sim's literal partner in the law enforcement career, someone whom she is required to have a friendship with to progress in the career, all of a sudden discovered his astounding attraction to her as soon as she entered the building. They've been friends since they were first assigned together, and she's currently almost at the top of her rank.

Also, when my teenage sim went to his afterschool club, every other teen sim in that club fell in love with him instantly. And there were no boundaries to gender since he hasn't been in a relationship yet (so no preference). It's funny, but it makes no sense. And it adds sims to the friendship tab that I don't interact with. Just being in the same room as them brings it up.

Yeah, regardless of it being EA's fault (which I have no doubt), this wasn't a problem before installing Woohooer. I guess it's just the matter of two different attraction systems working on top of each other at max. That's why I blamed Woohooer, or something in the settings I needed to fix. And yes, the fact that they have no real attraction is what makes it especially annoying to me. Like, why waste that energy making new acquaintance relationships for someone I just stood next to?? I do love the new attraction features and interactions that come with the mod, though. <3

Okay, awesome, I am definitely going to get this. But yeah, if I'm gonna make a sim that's the Jessica Rabbit of their time, I want it to be on my own terms 😂😂
