Saved settings?
If you decide to travel to another location/world does it save your mod settings for your sim and world settings?

The first time a foreign world within an ongoing game "sees" an NRaas mod, it will pick up the same settings from the world being traveled from for each of the mods. From that point forward though, they are independent by world and changing the settings in one world will not affect the others.

I have to say, this is not the case for me. After restarting the game and waiting several sim hours (to clear out old SP stories), I end up having to import my settings for all of them to take effect. My first trip to Uni, I waited a couple of days and SP never picked up the settings.
This might not be true of all Nraas mods (I definitely don't check every mod or every setting) or every world, but definitely University and some custom travel worlds. I've only been to 2 of the WA worlds, and I imported my settings right away with those.
Igazor travels MUCH more than me and if their traveler worlds pick up the settings, I'm sure that's what's supposed to be happening. I probably have a rogue setting somewhere. It doesn't bother me and I haven't cared enough to test anything, but I thought it was worth mentioning for anyone who has unexpected things happening in their travel worlds.

Are you kidding? I haven't left the house since 1955 (not true, just feels like it sometimes). I'm even starting to tell my relatives that I am not allowed to be on the Internet after 9:30pm, for reasons I am not allowed to tell them about either (this isn't true either, it's just me trying to find a graceful way to exit long Facetime or Zoom family gatherings and give them something to gossip about).indignantgirl post_id=81867 time=1618356556 user_id=20577 wrote: Igazor travels MUCH more than me
I guess we were talking about the game though, huh.
Are these brand new instances of Uni World and the custom destinations, freshly spawned from the beginning for that ongoing game, or are you reusing nhd files that have actually seen the mods prior?

They were all brand new instances. (Although nowadays I do reuse nhd files so I don't have to mess around with importing settings or doing other prep.)
When you travel to a new destination, I'm assuming you have to restart the game to get the mod settings to take effect (just like when importing settings in a new world). But after a restart, should the settings pretty much be in full effect?

I'm not sure the save (as), quit, and reload is even required, but I always do so out of habit anyway even if it's "just" a vacation and not a formal Change Homeworlds kind of manuever. The travel transition even with the mods in place is so jarring to the game that it always seems to be "happier" running on a fresh reload very soon after arrival, even if the origin and destination worlds are both relatively lightweight.
When playing a freshly spawned foreign world for the first time, I usually see the mods' settings transferred over, where relevant, in around 10 sim minutes or so if not sooner. It really shouldn't take longer than that. But if the plan is to have settings exports standing by to import by way of Overwatch or to keep re-using already setup and staged nhd files for these destinations, then it probably doesn't matter much if this feature isn't working as intended.

When I'm on a Zoom call that feels like it'll never end, I start answering AHQ threads. And when I'm done with those and the Zoom call still hasn't ended, I start organizing those threads. In a full year, no one's caught on yet.
On-topic, my settings do all seem to transfer, although my sims haven't yet traveled in my current save, which is the first one that's used StoryProgression. For my other mods, I mostly use default settings, so other than some woohooer options and making sure the info doesn't show when I hover my own sims' portraits, I'm not sure I'd have noticed if some settings didn't get imported to the new save.
I know that's not particularly helpful, but I didn't want to only derail this thread, and I couldn't think of anything more useful to say than that.
