The only mod stopping your Sims from traveling to the abyss. Did you end up there anyway? We'll try to help.

Hey guys, I'm alive and back! Damn reading scripts is fun, I'm currently trying to figure them out myself. I just want to play this game with mods because they add a lot to the game (especially the progression mod) but I think coupled with this town I downloaded, St. Claire, I ask too much from the game or my hardware. The world is way too big for the game to work lag free when you also add a family to every empty house. So I'm thinking of returning to my first love Sunset Valley, if that means I'll play a game without freezes, stutters every three seconds mid animation from sims and the whole engine. I really hope you have some other tips to improve the game, like what graphic settings affect stability the most. So far I've done everything on this site Steam Community :: Guide :: The Sims 3 | Performance & Bug Fix Guide 2021, and I also merged all my mods with CCMagic. Until then, if you want some fresh errors, check them out here: Filebin :: bin bcer7l45ebnw1iwj. Thanks, love you all, let's mage this game RUN!

I could post a short video to show you how my game runs, if it helps you give recommendations. I have an AMD R9 280 OC (overclocked to 1160 CClock and 1700 MClock) and an i5 4460. 16gb RAM but I know those are useless above 8 here.

Also, what world do you recommend for best stability and gameplay?

1 - Except for a couple of routine correction logs, those are all the exact same error. You have a sim in town named Catherine Best who is stuck in a loop attempting to spin into her career outfit and go to work, but she can't because she doesn't have a valid outfit in that category. And that's probably because she is pregnant. She may require some parental leave from work if a maternity law enforcement uniform is not possible.

2 - This isn't what is throwing errors that you have shared, but your versions of MasterController and its add-ons are mismatched. You have v134 of MC Integration but older versions of the base mod and the other two add-on modules. I would strongly suggest bringing those all up to v134.

I'm not familiar with St. Clair in particular, but am kind of stuck on the phrase "add a family to every empty house." Is that really necessary and what kind of resident world population are we talking about here? On City Hall or an in-game computer, NRaas > MC > Demographics > Population > "X" to dismiss the filters, and what do you get there? The other numbers (homeless, service) can be interesting too, but usually the critical one is residents.

Alright, I'll get to updating my mods, also, should I add all my mods to CCMagic and merge them? I didn't see much of a difference in performance. After updating I'll start the game and I'll show you my population. If I leave Catherine Best alone for a few days she'll give birth and go back to work I think so the problem will solve itself I hope. Brb.

Catherine - The game would be expected to keep trying to push this sim to work during her shift times and ErrorTrap will keep trapping the resulting errors (as opposed to letting the game crash each time). This can't be good for game performance. Wouldn't it be simpler to just grant her a few paid days off by way of MC Cheats?

St. Claire - There are quite a few popular very large custom worlds out there that are designed very well, are downright works of art to look at, but do not perform properly for most players because they are just too large and complex for the game engine to handle. I don't know if this world falls into that category. But any world with that has been allowed to have 258 resident sims is going to cause issues, potentially. I run a total of one world that is heavily populated like that within my network of Traveler mod connected worlds in my ongoing game and I have to take very special care with it -- SP needs to run on Snail for me pretty often, sometimes I have to switch it off entirely, and I need to begin turning down some of the graphics settings in game options to keep RAM usage down. It depends on which household I am playing actively within that world. But this is a special case and one I brought upon myself knowing that there would be issues as I play forward and am always looking to solve them as they come up. Happens to be Riverview, which helps because it is generally well designed and not very subject to world lot routing issues like so many other worlds can be.

Generally speaking though, that's too many residents especially when any form of story progression is running. The stock EA worlds come in at under 100 to begin with, just for comparison purposes, and SP has a default population cap of 150 human resident sims (not counting pets). There's a reason for that -- the game engine can't always handle a heavier load. It's also not necessary to populate every residential lot with a household, as that would leave nowhere for sims to move around and no way for households to split off once kids/teens grow up and are ready to leave the nest.

Correction Logs - Those are ErrorTrap detecting and handling useless shards of data that do not belong in the world currently being simulated. They are nothing to worry about and they will generate once or twice per game session. We want this to happen, otherwise the useless data (seems like a stereo for example but really isn't a usable one and might be a duplicate or a shadow copy of something that is really in a connected foreign world) clogs up the game and its performance further until saves become unplayable.

Thanks, I'll give Catherine some days off then lmao, and I'll be searching for households to evict in my town. I hope one day I'll finish my backlog of old games and I'll fulfil the promise I made to only buy a new PC when I have completed all my old games.

Another question, I have all expansions and stuff packs installed, but I never use Back to the Future, Island Paradise, Katy Perry or Diesel Stuff. Now I installed them because I thought they added functionality and objects, but I'm asking how much of a fps/lag improvement could I see if I uninstalled these 4 (and maybe World Adventures). If it's a noticeable improvement I could consider it. I remember my game got really laggy after Island Paradise came out, and before that it was relatively smooth, I don't know if it was the expansion or other factors (like the fact that I immediately started playing in the scuba diving world, which was known for its lag)
