Hi everyone!!

I downloaded this mod so when I move my sims to a new town, not only do they keep all their old relationships but I want them to be able to travel back to their hometown as a vacation and visit everyone.

I follow all the steps on the FAQ perfectly and all their relationships are definitely saved, but when I go to travel back to the old hometown as a vacation the entire town is reset and wiped. Example: I moved my Sim and family from Sunset Valley to Bridgeport. All her relationships and friendships and family tree from Sunset Valley are saved. But when I use the phone/computer to travel back to Sunset Valley from Bridgeport just to visit everyone, Sunset Valley is completely reset.

how can I fix this? Thank you in advance!!

This is not normal expected behavior for non-custom worlds. Can you confirm the source of your install? Disc? Origin? And can you confirm the same happens with only NRaas mods installed?

Also worth asking, is/were these the stock versions of Sunset Valley and Bridgeport or was either an installed custom world based on the original?

My game and all expansion packs are downloaded from steam!! And I only have Nraas mods I don’t have anything else

Something is off but afraid I'm not sure what. This is definitely not normal behavior. Using EA worlds it should just work. Have you tried loading a fresh version of Bridgeport, changing something, traveling to Sunset Valley then using the phone to "Return Home" seeing if what you changed is still changed?

I'm a dummy, but your post made me curious because I plan to move worlds a few generations in and (hopefully) retain relationships back home.

First, you do have the .nhd files from the old hood in your save file, right? They take up a lot of room & can be deleted without harming your game. For instance, if you want a fresh Uni each time you go there.

Second, the EA method of moving worlds ("Move to New World" function on the phone and the computer's real estate menus) sometimes completely deletes the old hood despite Traveller & Error Trap being installed. To change worlds via Traveller: Base Camp or Town Hall lot menu (click on the map tag from map view), and use "NRaas > Traveler > Change Hometown".Is it possible you accidentally used the wrong method?

Question for smart people out there. Is it possible to move an old .nhd file from a previous save into the current one? I imagine the world with all your info would be a much larger .nhd file.

Yes, this is possible This way you can visit a world from another save or edit a world in advance before you visit for the first time.

These were also good questions to ask OP, I was going to mention the same.
The part of the FAQ that mentions that Move to New World is separate from the World Adventures 'Travel' menu is after the part about changing hometown, so it's possible to follow those steps and actually miss that detail.

Good to know about the .nhd file. Hopefully, the OP will at least have an old save and be able to get their original world file back.

I got paranoid about making copies of my saves before any move/travel after I kept losing a sim in transit moving back home from Uni & often wondered if those old .nhd files would be useful!
