So it seems the gambling skill is unaffected by Relativity, my sim pretty much maxed her gambling skill in a matter of days xD
Going to reset to zero and hopefully someone here will know where in Retuner I can adjust the skill gain factor for gambling skill?

Owait, I think GamblingGainPerSimMinute is the # of gambling points acquired per minute, rather than how many minutes it takes to gain. Ahh!
So I need to lower it not higher it, I think?
God I love the sims but it doesn't half take a lot of messing around to get 'right' once you've added store stuff.
edit: yes I was right
kGamblingGainPerSimMinute = 0.05
NOW it's fixed

Skills related to objects from the store learn unfairly quickly. I usually set the coefficient for them specifically at least twice less than for all the others.

And where do you do that if you maybe so kind?Sara_Darkees post_id=75879 time=1596390236 user_id=18005 wrote: Skills related to objects from the store learn unfairly quickly. I usually set the coefficient for them specifically at least twice less than for all the others.

Sorry, I haven't set this up for a long time, but if I not mistaken, there will be a list of Skill Gain Factor. By default, it applies to all, but you can configure it there or in the Relative Skills section. Perhaps someone else will be more accurate. But I can assure you that it's quite possible to achieve the desired result.

This is set under Relativity on cityhall

I don't recall experiencing this issue with the Gambling skill, but maybe I have and it's just been a while so I've forgotten. But it would indeed be consistent with store object defined skills. The Artisan one associated with the glass blowing station is impossible to throttle by way of Relativity no matter what one uses as a Skill Gain Factor. What I end up doing is using MC Cheats to shove a sim's Artisan skill back down a point or two every time they produce something and gain the skill too fast. Others have complained about this one at MTS as well, but I've never seen a working solution for it.
Gambling relativity
Hm weird, since I was skilling up so fast I assumed it was unaffected by relativity.
I'll go manually decrease the skill factor then

How strange, because I thought there were results. The higher the skill level, the harder and longer it will take to learn. But unfortunately, this only applies to standard skills. I admit that there may not be much difference. What does it matter how long it takes: one-two days or three-four? This is nothing compared to the skills from the standard game. By the way, I just recently completed the arrangement of the casino, and I haven't played it thoroughly yet, but I also didn't think it was learning too quickly.igazor wrote: ↑August 2nd, 2020, 2:14 pmI don't recall experiencing this issue with the Gambling skill, but maybe I have and it's just been a while so I've forgotten. That's because the Artisan skill doesn't have a set experience requirement to the next level. Without that it can't be throttled.

Regarding the Artisan skill, if a Level 1 sim creates an object, in my game they will be at Level 3 by the time they are finished. After the next one they may be at Level 5 or 6, depending on how long it takes them. New and interesting options are opened up with each single skill level advance, but they really shouldn't be happening all that quickly with such little effort.Sara_Darkees wrote: ↑August 3rd, 2020, 1:18 amWhat does it matter how long it takes: one-two days or three-four?
Does that mean this requirement can be modded in easily, or is it more complicated than that because the required value is not defined?sittingbear wrote: ↑August 3rd, 2020, 1:34 amThat's because the Artisan skill doesn't have a set experience requirement to the next level.
