Retired.

Post by tysonwatts » April 10th, 2016, 11:35 am

I am new to using story progression. I have tried it a few times before but its very busy compared to the mods I use, so I have had trouble getting on with it.
I Changed a few setting on start of game to change things I knew about from previous games, moving set to false and change dream jobs I also disabled a lot of ambitions jobs as they is no access to items needed. I think this is where my problem came from, I have noticed a few of the young adult Sims in my town are retired, I have tried using Mastercontroller and Register to give them jobs but they are still flagged as retired.
I can not find away to unflag them I have read the instructions as such on the story progression page, but either I'm not understanding or its not working story progression does not to seem to push these Sims at all, as they are single and I never get pop ups about them.

Thank you, i think that last link will at least be helpful in the future. Could not see anything that would get my inactive retired Sims active though.

Are these sims that have been flagged as Retired residents or homeless sims? Homeless sims that are being used to do a Role Position such as the Consignment Shop will automatically be flagged as retired as they would serve no other purpose than to just do the Role they have been assigned.

And to help narrow things down are you in an EA world and which one and give me a name of one of these flagged sims as I know most of the pre-mades in almost every EA town

Playing In standard EA world, Bridgeport, I had gave these Sims consignment jobs, which is where I think the problem lies. I have removed there roles and tried everything I can think of but still after a couple of weeks story progression has done nothing with them so gave them a differant job but there there still flagged as retired. They are Bridgeport townies, have homes.

Sugar Bijou is one, i use a 23 hour bar mod and as i do not want townies given those jobs, could never leave it to Regiser.

Yeah that's where the problem does come in Register will automatically use the homeless sims for those types of positions giving residents a Role job makes it hard to get the retired status removed
With Register as long as Allow Resident Assignment is set to False residents it should never get assigned to Role jobs

Try this make sure the game is paused then use Register to remove the Role job then use Master Controller to give them a Rabbithole job keep the game paused do a Save As exit the game delete
CASPartCache.package
compositorCache.package
simCompositorCache.package
scriptCache.package
In your Documents>EA>The Sims 3 folder then reload the game and let the game run for a little bit if that doesn't help then I'm not sure what to do next as I've never had to go beyond that to get a Retired status removed

I need to correct my last post I forgot an important step Master Controller Cheats is needed I believe use Master Controller to first end their pension
MC>Intermediate>Career>End Pension this should completely remove the Retired status then use MC to give them a Rabbithole job
