Honestly, it is so easy to be misunderstood on these forums it's beyond frustrating! Never mind the frustration of the issue itself.
My "locked" thread has nothing to do with all those mods not working. For the most part I have no problems with any of them but this one particular thing. Yes, it is beyond frustrating and I am certainly not blaming anyone or anything or trying to upset people. What I did there (in the locked post) was I listed the mods that I have installed so as to help someone who may be reading that thread in case something I listed may be interfering or that perhaps I don't have a mod that I am supposed to have to help the other mod work. I also listed the things that I have tried to do to fix the problem, so I don't know what else I should have done. I have been a part of many forums and it's often the case that an older thread that works its way down the list get's overlooked or forgotten about. So I thought it may be best to start a new one. Sorry if that was improper. I also am fully aware that people are working diligently to get the new site set up and as such things may go un-answered for a bit, but it was not my intent to do something wrong or be pushy. I just thought that maybe looking at it in a new light may shed some light on the problem. Delete that thread if that would be best.

No one is upset and forum misunderstandings shouldn't be anything to be frustrated about, you are among friends here. The other thread being locked was purely an administrative matter, not a punitive one.

It is fine to bump a thread that still has an ongoing issue associated with it after a few days or weeks (although again in this case please do have mercy on us because of the site move). It is fine to ask an Organizer if a thread that has ended up wandering all over the place be locked in favor a restarted one. But two active threads, and two days old is still very much active, on the same issue I'm afraid only leads to confusion as various members may see and try to respond to different ones at around the same time.

It's possible SP could be missing the checks for the Mourning moodlet. Do you have any mods that alter moodlets even if a tuning mod as it's possible if you have one that it could be blocking things.

igazor, good to know, I felt bad for having miss-stepped. :-) I'm frustrated, but certainly not toward anyone.

Sittingbear, - I don't think so, I don't have any tuning mods (that I'm aware) The list of everything in my mod folder is as follows:

Non-Nraas:
cmar_mpregmorph_ComboPack (the pregnancy one)
More Entry Points Version 1

Nraas mods:
Decensor
Error Trap
Master Controller
MC Cheats
MC Integration
Once Read
Overwatch
Portrait Panel
Saver
Story Progression
SP Career
SP Extra
SP Population
SP Relationship
Tempest Traveler

Dead Sims...

Post by JohnL83 » October 11th, 2018, 8:31 pm

UPDATE:  The Death moodlet is still NOT propagating to my sims family outside of the active sims. In the game I was playing one of the teens died in the pool and his older siblings live next door and across the street and never got the mourning moodlet. I checked the whole blood family and no one outside of the active family had one. I double checked that it is set to TRUE and it is. So I waited a couple of sims days to see if it was a time issue, but nope! I even had a funeral and STILL no one else got the moodlet, though a couple of them walked up to the tombstone and sobbed. Of course no biggie there because they do that to the ones at the park haunted house too. :-P
So I opened another game and killed off a main family member, the mother of 6 kids and 15 grandchildren. She she has strong relationships with almost everyone of them! (not saving this game obviously) too see if it was just a certain town/game that this was occurring and once again the mourning moodlet did NOT propagate to anyone outside the active family. So I'm not sure what can be going on here. The post just above this on is where I had listed all of the mods that I have currently running in my game.

BTW: is there a way to set this webpage so that when I open a topic I am taken to the most recent post?

Dead Sims...

Post by JohnL83 » October 11th, 2018, 10:11 pm

If anyone knows anything about this please help me. I have exhausted every option I can think of from removing the mod then re-downloading the mod to taking other mods off. I can't imagine anything I have would be blocking this action since they are all NRaas except for two of them and I don't see why the pregnancy clothes or entry points would affect mourning.
Exactly how is the particular option in this mod supposed to work? Is it possible that I've misunderstood everything?
If I have TRUE marked under "propagate mourning moodlet" that means that it should be giving the mourning moodlet and it's cause to any blood related sim whether or not they are part of the active family or on the same lot? Correct??   Cuz if that is what it's supposed to do it's not doing it. Has anyone else even used this option and if so did it work for you?  I have a couple of family elders who will be dying soon and I'd like the whole blood related family to "know" about their passing other than just having a funeral.

Discovery: IDK if anyone is even reading or keeping up, but I did discover something about this mod option, I think :-/
If I use MC Cheat to force kill a sim, then the mourning moodlet propagates to all sims closely related to that sim, from blood relations and including those in intimate relationships ie: partner, finance, and obviously spouse. Also they all have the mourning moodlet and the red-bubble over their head with the dead sim's picture. (if you just MC-add the mourning moodlet they cry with no picture or seemingly any real reason) Apparently what DOES NOT seem to propagate are sims who die on the active families lot either naturally or traumatically. Which I find to be a bit of a an issue since I'd actually prefer if it was the other way around. I don't want to have to force kill everyone just so relatives can have the moodlet and reason for passing. :-(
Anyway, I tested this theory in several games by quick-sliding the hunger slider to starve the sim on my lot, then checked moodlets of anyone who is related and NOT on the lot. There was no moodlet of anyone who was not on the lot upon their death  Then I 'force killed' a couple of sims with the MC cheat and whom had several relatives across town and everyone got the moodlet. So if anyone knows about this mod, is this the way it is supposed to work?

I would say that plenty of people are reading this thread based on the number of views it is getting (unless one person is refreshing the screen on it dozens of times per day) but none of us had any suggestions to make or information to add once we got past the wrong SP module being indicated on the Interactions page.

I would also say, not from experience but based on what you have just found, that this is good information for our developer to have to see if he can replicate and fix the issue when he does have time to spend on the actual mods rather than on the site's development here. What you have described cannot possibly be the intended behavior of that function. But it the meantime, from the sound of things, it would probably be best to find a way to play around its shortcomings for now. No, just handing out the moodlet with MC is not ideal because sims won't know why they have the moodlet, but it may the best that can be arranged for now.

If you click on the rectangular shape to the left of the thread title, it will take you to the first unread post in the thread. You can tell it's the right thing to click, because if you hover over it, it says "Unread posts".

They need to be related and have a high relationship with the deceased (bar more than half filled). Is that the case?
