Converting Animations from One Life Stage to Another

I wanted a interaction/animation conversion from toddler to child. The "pick up" and "put down" to be specific. Is there anyway someone could do this for me?

I'm afraid that the intersection between animators and mod developers isn't a huge one, and this isn't really a request that would be within the scope of what NRaas provides. What you may want to do is post this on the TS3 Where Can I Find (WCIF) board on MTS, only be sure to phrase it as more of search for that which might exist as outright requests are not allowed there.

You may end up in a discussion with someone who has attempted this or has looked over the various Pose Pack alternative animations for sims carrying children that already do exist.

The presenter was nervous and speaks VERY fast, and she didn't fully understand what some of the options she was choosing really did. I can't remember exactly what I had to figure out for myself after watching.

I haven't converted any two-subject animations. "Pick up" and "Put down" would require some adjustments to make the child look normal against the adult doing the carrying, I think.

The toddler pick up thing, some people have asked me about it too. Sofmc9 tried to do it by changing a toddler to child in the middle of the animation but there was a lot of clipping. There's already an animation that firefighters in Ambitions have to pick up children and carry them. Maybe try to recreate the firefighter one for other Sims instead minus the restriction.

I have converted a decent amount of adult animations to child. You can just name the animations properly, package them up and add them to the game, and then enable the interaction for child using Retuner.

It turns out that there's usually something to tweak the perfectionist, though. I converted the play with toddler at pegbox/xylophone animations for children (It bugs me how few interactions there are from toddler->child or toddler->toddler), but the smaller children sit so far away from the object/toddler. One day someday, if anyone is still playing this game, I'll figure out a way to tweak things to get the child closer.

I have converted beekeeping, which involves moving the child model to stool height, but I've never been able to figure out how to add a stool and the animation for the child to walk up/down at the ends of the animation. Also I think I'd need to also convert the beekeeping hat.

And horses. That's the biggest thing. But it also needs a stool for mount/dismount.

Sigh.

@Echoweaver - WOW. Have you converted the animation for children to ride horses without stretching?

Hey Skydome, that sounds interesting. Perhaps the toddler animation forced the clipping? Will trying to convert with Blender help?
