In my adventures in the darkside of Sims, I cam across a mod where the Sims slept above the covers. This kind of mod would be great for beach or prisons, etc type role-play. However the mod I found included a lot of really hardcore stuff, which is not appropriate for most players.

Hi KiwTT - I have never seen a mod for that. Perhaps some in here will know of one. A good place for WCIF stuff is over at MTS in their Where Can I Find Forum.

There are a couple of work-arounds you might want to consider:
Not the same as a bed but there is a download for the <a class="wiki_link_ext" href="http://modthesims.info/t/513490" rel="nofollow">Sims Sleep On The Couch Mod</a> in the first post.
There are some couches around that look like single or day beds.

Also, I have sims that sometimes sleep on top of the beds when using some of the custom bedding available. Those bed covers are decorative but some of them are not suited if you want to see your sims under the covers.

I know what mod you're talking about. A lot of good stuff in it, but also a lot of stuff no one needs (lol). The sleeping on top of the covers thing was cool though. Not to hijack this thread but along with that, I would love a mod that let sims sleep on the floor.

jjonewell couldn't that be accomplished with a flat object scripted & slotted like a bed? You'd want it with an invisible recolor most likely.

Yes if you can find a suitable object you can script one whether it can be slotted as a bed I don't know. The sleeping bag that came with Generations allows sims to sleep on the floor but isn't slotted as a bed
