Lifetime Points

Post by Sonshine » December 24th, 2016, 8:36 pm

Hi, I have some sims in my household who are not gaining any lifetime points at all! Somebody told me that it was probably due to their mood being low, but I have at least one sim whose mood bar is halfway up and her points are not going anywhere; she's not gaining any points at all. Could this be a mod issue or a glitch? Thanks!

Sims need to be Very Happy to Elated to gain a noticeable amount of Happiness points for doing nothing else, I believe that's more than halfway up. At just Happy they might get a few points per day, but that's not much and they won't get even that if their mood keeps dipping down lower and rising up again. This is why it can be so challenging for babies to get a head start on points, it's often not easy to elevate their moods high enough and keep them elevated, plus they can't promise wishes or complete them.

Does she get any points by satisfying a promised wish? If not, what if you grant her a small number of points using MC, does that unstick things?
NRaas > MC > (Sim) > Intermediate > Lifetime Happiness (MC Cheats module required)

Also thinking it could be a display glitch and they really are getting the points, just not showing them. Does saving, quitting all the way to the desktop, and reloading help?

Thanks Igazor! I can't lock any wishes right now b/c it's an apocalypse challenge. To answer your question though, yes she (and others in the family) do get pts if they satisfy a wish. Right now, her bar is about halfway. I don't think I've ever seen this before.

Should have added in there someplace, in a game where the happiness system is unaltered (and when mot in mourning, on fire, bothered by other extreme negative moodlets, and apocalypses are not part of the daily routine, yikes!), sims that are of at least average means and whom we take care of ourselves in many cases tend to be so happy all of the time that the points just flow right in. Lately, thanks to Sarah_Sims' recommendation a while back, I've been playing with a mod in place that make it much more challenging to keep sims happy. It's changed everything about gameplay, my sims are actually Sad, Angry, Uncomfortable, etc., or just plain Fair or regular Happy a good deal of the time now, with bouts of Elatedness here and there. Every little positive moodlet that I used to take for granted suddenly becomes much more important and significant and things seem so much more realistic.

(I use the Hot flavor, and no I do not want to "make nerdy girls cry," Buzzler is such a comedian...)

Anyway, reason I'm bringing all of this up is that there are now many days where my sims' Happiness points do not move forward for very long periods at a time because they are not fulfilling wishes and they just aren't as delighted about every little thing as they used to be. Shove a perfect +75 meal in their faces while sitting on a comfy chair with their favorite music playing in a well-decorated room near someone they are attracted to (you get the idea), and the points start flowing in again. But who wants to be that happy all the time? Disgusting! :)

I thought I remembered an old old song about being happy all the time but when I searched for it to share with you I got a baffling mix of results including two articles right next to each other, one promising lifehacks to make you happy all; the time and the other saying that it is not mentally healthy to be happy even very much of the time, So I don't know.

I was thinking that I wouldn't mind being happy all the time. It would be a nice change from dealing with medication causing depression as a side effect. (although it's not suicidal depression anymore, so I guess I can call it happy?) But I suppose that being elated all the time might get just as old, or at least stop being appreciated.
