Nuking wishes

Post by tamalinn » December 21st, 2023, 12:49 pm

Hi,

Can Retuner be used to confine some wishes to specific age groups/traits? One of my YA sims rolls a wish every single sim day to play hopscotch with his boss. He doesn't have the childish trait, he just really super wants to play hopscotch with his boss. Can Retuner be used so only children and sims with the childish trait roll this wish? It's getting on my nerves. If not Retuner, can any of the other NRaas mods be used for this?

Thanks,

What's wrong with playing hopscotch with your boss? :P

I've not heard of any way to pick and choose what wishes Sims get, but if there is something, I'm game. :)
I've even had Sims with the "dislikes children" trait get wishes for kids as soon as they are in a committed relationship.

I've always I wished there was also an "always faithful" trait so some sims would never react positively to intimate advances. But apparently the same developers who don't think babies/toddlers need car-seats or have family members outside the home who can babysit, also decided that just a strong friendship can lead to breakups and woo-hoos, regardless of having the faithful reputation. :|

I believe that one way to stop the hopscotch wish is to (at least temporarily) remove all hopscotch courts from the world being played until the sim's dream manager finds something else silly to be obsessed with. :)

This is probably not the answer you're expecting, but there is a tuning mod on MTS that disables these wishes.

So all Sims must suffer a lack of hopscotch because one Sim want's to play with his/her boss? Sounds extreme. LOL ;)

I got rid of all washers and dryers for that reason, so it could work. I rarely get wishes for one since I rid the map of them, but they do still appear from time to time so IDK.

When I got rid of washers and dryers, my sims started spinning constant wants for washers and dryers. So I caved and bought them washers and dryers. Now they want to do the laundry like 9000 times per day. I wish I could muster that much enthusiasm for doing laundry.

I like the "do laundry" wishes. The sim only needs to take the clean laundry out of the dryer for it to count, they can do it in a bad mood, and it's easy to cancel if I don't feel like pursuing it. My sims always end up with a maid, so all that needs to happen is that the maid throws a load in the dryer and leaves before it's done.

I do have a few wishes that annoy me, but canceling them is easy.

Sorry this isn't on topic, but something that has worked for me is to link Woohooer with SP and to create a Faithful caste. I set it to automatic, then Caste: Trait Require to good, hopeless romantic and family orientated (or whatever traits you'd like it to apply to) then set Flirt: Affair Adultery Chance and Flirt: Affair Liaison Chance to 0. I also set the Caste Priority to be 5 or something to make sure it overrides other castes. Obviously you can set this on individual sims too. If you want additional mayhem in your town you can make a flirty caste too, with the adultery and liaison chances set higher than the default 10.

Hmm, my "eternally faithful" sims seem to usually follow through with that stance and reject all advances. Some traits, like Hopeless Romantic, can ruin that though, because "Hopeless Romantic" seems to mean "just can't say no".

As for washers and dryers, the super hampers seem to prevent most of those wishes, though not completely. It's that rare though that I don't really mind.

And yes, I use a bunch of tuning mods to abolish wishes I don't want.

In whohooer you can also assign who is allowed to besides disallow breakup in SP.
Woohooer-FAQ#How-Do-I-Control-Flirting- ... rried-Sims

I set everything very strict and this works great together, linked to SP.
