DasmX86Dll.dll not found for Sims 3 and Sims Medieval

Post by Craylicia » August 1st, 2023, 12:51 pm

Good Day!

I bough the Sims 3 and Sims Medieval months ago and I can't get them to work on my laptop. I have no mods. I just cannot open the game. It crashes immediately. Quite desperate since EA Tech has been of no help at all.

I have the latest versions of DirectX and .NETFramework 3.5. I also have C++ End User Runtime .

Link to my DXDiag.

Here is the link to the crash exception.

Hi!

I see that you have a 12th generation Intel processor. Try to patch TS3.exe and TSM.exe files with Intel Alder Lake Patch.

Just to add to the above, the DasmX86Dll error appears in every TS3 crash log. It is reporting something that is missing in the crash log reporting system itself (which is usually pretty useless anyway) and has nothing to do with our games.

Thank you! As childish as this sounds, you brought tears to my eyes literally. I managed to make the Sims Medieval work and I was even able to look up a solution for the brightness issue.

Unfortunately, the Sims 3 won't start. It shows that there is an issue with my .NET Framework. I installed the latest version from https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/down ... -framework , but to no avail.

It's repair tool showed this.

Thank you! I did what I usually did with SMAPI for Stardew Valley. I immediately looked for any errors. Didn't know that issues like that aren't standard for all games.

I did all the steps to no avail. Also you cannot install the 3.5 version on Windows 11.

That's right, you don't need to install .NET 3.5 separately.

Try doing it this way:
Press Win + R, in the "Run" window type "optionalfeatures", click OK, in the next window select the .NET 3.5 component and install it.

Already did that. :(

I cannot seem to upload images to the server. It shows that the folder for .NET Framework and the 2 subfolders under it have tick marks.

Hmm. I don't have any subfolders checked, just the main folder. Dumb question, but have you tried rebooting the system after installing the component?
