HomeOpener only working once

Post by ACommonGuerrillo » June 24th, 2023, 1:42 pm

Hello, I'm new to using the forums and Nraas mod and I've recently downloaded the HomeOpener mod and at first it was working just fine but now for some reason it is only working once, that is, once I visit a household of another family and leave the house is no longer automatically open.

Hm, that is weird, normally you don't have to "visit" the other family with your sim.
If homeopener works (only for residential lots), you can zoom into the house and then see the sims there doing something.

Isn't this the case?
What do you mean with "leave the house"? If you leave the lot with camera you will not see the insight rooms.

there is also this note for homeopener
" The system only loads the interiors if the camera happens to be on the lot.
If you place a new lot, it will not become "open" until you reload the game, or switch to a different household.
Note: A side-effect of being auto-greeted to everyone's home is that you are unable to use the EA Standard "Visit" interaction. "

I think what OP means is
once I visit a household of another family and leave, the house is no longer automatically open.

As it functions by an auto-greet, it stands to reason that the EA functionality of closing the home once your Sims leave the lot might be taking priority. I don't know if that is the regular function of the mod though. If it wasn't doing that before, another mod may be interfering.

Is it possible it wasn't present before simply because your active Sims weren't visiting the lots in question? Or are you sure that it is no longer working on lots you are interacting with in the same way as before?

I use homeopener since many years, it still works as intended. Your camera must be on the lot, very near.

I normally don't need to visit the lot with my sim, I zoom into the houses to check the residents, see them acting or changing an outfit... whatever.

But if I visit a lot with my selected active SIM, I can enter the house too, greeted .
But when I am leaving and the camera is not near on the lot anymore,
it looks closed again. That is normal.

What I understood the OP to mean, unless they clarify, is that once the active sim has left a lot they were visiting it closes even for the player camera (just like EA functionality without HomeOpener).
But if they expect it to stay with roof/walls down with both sims and camera away, then yes that isn't how it works.
