Some odd Glitches?

Post by JohnL83 » May 12th, 2023, 4:23 pm

Hello all, I've been playing my hew Bridgeport game using the version linked to me here in a previous post and so far things are playing out okay. My frame-rate is good, and the only error reports are about NPS spawning inside the walls of skyscrapers where they can't escape (thought this better version of the town would fix that, but I guess not) But I am having some other odd things occur with my Sims and I'm wondering if anyone knows whether it's fixable or a corrupt game?

While I'm not getting any notable errors from Nraas, I am having things occur like; even though my child is best friends with a couple of kids when she asks them to stay over they say they don't know her well enough, also, my adult TV star dad keeps putting the toddler to bed in the middle of the day when she's fully rested and a couple of times he went to bed too even though he was fully rested. These are just a few examples, but the other instances are similar. ie sims saying they don't know my active family well when they clearly have a full green bar with them, having chatted many times before...and the odd bedtimes and a few other unusual actions. So anyway, does this sound like I need to start over or can I salvage this? (and so far I HAVE ran a MC "reset all" on the town and I've reset my individual sims within the household, but to no avail)

Some odd Glitches?

These don't really sound like glitches as much as sims doing weird sim things. I've had a sim go to sleep in the middle of the day and I thought it was weird. But I also did wake that sim up a lot earlier than usual to go out andcomplete an opportunity. So I just chocked it up to him knowing what's best for him as he does work 4 to 10 pm and would've definitely been sleepy at work had he not went back to sleep. I thought it was normal for sims to put the babies/toddlers in the cribs sometimes when they aren't sleepy. I just cancel it out or have them take them out and put them on the floor.

As far as sims not wanting to come over. What's your sims reputation? Maybe they have a bad name in town and the wholesome townies don't want to be associated with them. Do any of them work in the criminal career track? I always had a hard time getting my Sim childs friend to come over and stay the night when her mom was high up in the criminal career track. Are there any celebrity related accusations against them?
Also try inviting them out somewhere and then when in a group chat until friendly and invite them to your house under friendly. That should get them there, and if they back out maybe it is a bigger issue.

Yeah, I figured out it's not likely a glitch. But the sims in question are very popular and I have the celebrity disgrace thing turned off, even though one of the Dad's is a TV actor. Like I said, this was happening to my sims who are BFF with people.
Since I posted this it has been random and not something that is always happening. I've since been able to have the kid ask her close friends over and it's been fine.
As for the sleeping, that still occurs now and then with my TV actor. I did some more research on my own and found, as you state, that sims who work later shifts often have late sleep schedules, even if they are fully rested.
And during that research I also found that if you even get into a temporary argument with a BFF they will sometimes reject any offer proceeding that minor tiff. So as with my child sim, her bff has the grumpy trait and as often happens with these traits she probably yelled at my Sim for no reason so that when she had her to ask to stay the night, the friend refused. Like you said, just more Sim silliness. LOL Like how enemies will keep trying to have nice conversations with people the supposedly can't stand.

I've been playing Sims with mods for a long time and don't remember having these two problems, (I rarely do acting careers or any job that that has a lot of night shifts.) I often play the same careers and personality types so I guess trying out new things leads to other types of actions. I need to diversify my game play a bit more, like when I first played years ago and tried out everything until I fell into a typical play style.
