Can Someone Recommend any Mods for Sims 4?

Post by Bowlady1955 » September 20th, 2022, 6:27 pm

I was gifted a Sims 4 Base Game with a couple of Additional Packs from my daughter since she knows how much I love Sims.

Does NRAAS have any Mods for Sims 4? If not can anyone recommend any good mod sites for Sims 4?

I don't trust any sites but this one for Sims 3 so this is the only site I use.

Thanks in Advance

Cheers,

There are no Sims 4 mods on this site, and it's really not the place to discuss TS4 in general. But if you want somewhere to start, look into Deaderpool's MC Command Center, a mod suite that was inspired by NRaas. MCCC doesn't come close in terms of quality or configuration options, but it does offer many of the commands you'd want to access.

TwistedMexi makes some useful mods, including AllCheats (self-explanatory) and TOOL for object manipulation that normally wouldn't be possible. (Think removing an object that somehow got stuck off of any lot.)

ShowSimInfo and UICheats are also popular. And if you're looking for more adult content, Wicked Whims has probably more than you'd want, with Wonderful Whims being more tame by comparison.

Bienchen and simvasion make useful bug-fixing mods for current issues, but those mostly cycle in and out as new bugs arise and are fixed in later patches.

This is a useful post for individual bug fixes:

Please keep in mind that Sims 4 gets one major patch per month, and each one breaks a number of mods. Some mods seemingly break every single patch, for example UI Cheats and at least one TwistedMexi mod, whereas others (MCCC, ShowSimInfo) may stilll mostly work but not properly account for new data.

Some mods won't just break but will occasionally bork your saves if you load them when the game has updated but the mods have not. (WW is a particular offender.) So always make backups of your saves before a patch, and you may want to hold off on patching until the mods you use have been updated and cleared, which is usually a quick process but not always. You can take Origin offline to avoid having to patch, and make sure Origin isn't set to auto-update your games so it doesn't start the process when it's briefly online.

If you want to discuss which mods to use, or how to use them, in more depth, the best place is probably this section of the official Sims forums:

https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/catego ... om-content

Finally, be sure to claim the Desert Luxe kit, which is free until October 18th for anyone who already owns the base game. It's EA's gift to current players to try to head off the complaints about the game going free-to-play on that date.

Thank you so so much. I've only played Sims 3 which is why I'm a member here but thought I might try the other for a bit and see what's different.

Thanks for putting so much info into your response and the effort and time. It is greatly appreciated.

Can Someone Recommend any Mods for Sims 4?

Hi! I'm glad someone came to help. :)

I finally just gave up on S4. I tried it for nearly two years and just could not get into it. I only bought like 2 DLC's not counting the main one and I just didn't enjoy S4 like I can S3. I am one of those who really missed the open world, cars, etc and I really didn't care for the anime look of the new Sims. I loved many of the expanded stuff you could do in S4, like with kids and such, but everything else about the game I never did get used to dealing with.

I also never got around to trying the mods for S4 because most of what I found when browsing didn't really change the things I disliked about the new version. When I switched computers never even bothered re-downloading Orion. LOL I enjoy Steam much more. Plus S3 works so well on my newer PC with Nraas mods that I rarely have any issues and I am on my 4th generation in of one of my towns/games and that is with extended lifespans (770 days total)
Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and post my useless and mild diatribe. :P
