Bad kitty!....

Post by JohnL83 » September 17th, 2022, 11:34 am

I have a cat in one of my games who has the non-destructive trait and yet it still scratches up everything EXCEPT it's two classy cat condos!
She's also been disciplined numerous times and according to all signs, she knows better.
I've not come across this issue before and I'm wondering if there's something I can do? Reset did nothing. It's not a huge deal, the sims are rich and can replace the damaged stuff with no problems, but it bugs me.

And I have 2 real life cats and they never claw my stuff so I know it's not just "cats". LOL

I've had that happen too with cats that have the non-destructive trait.

But I just disciplined them, and they seemed to stop doing it.

Does your cat have the aggressive trait?

I noticed one of my dogs with that trait and no matter how often we discipline him, he still chases the mailman or woman!

No she does not. I guess I will just keep addressing the issue in reprimands. I did double check to see if the condos needed to be reset or moved. But the other cat uses them all the time so for whatever reason this naughty cat isn't fond of them, only occasionally.

It is funny too because I have 2 real-life cats and one hates the cat trees and avoids them while the other loves them. Tigger, the cat who's my avatar right now, sleeps in his tree quite a bit, but Victoria (not my name choice, she was adopted) will use the trees to sharpen her claws, but she never climbs up for whatever reason.

BTW: I've never had my sim-dogs chase the mail carriers? Is that really a thing? They've never paid any attention to them all these years playing. Speaking of rare occurrences, I had a meteor in my game yesterday! LOL It was bad too, destroyed half my front yard and ruined tiles so bad I had to cheat to clean them up because the Sims couldn't get to them! :D

My cat is a really good boy. He doesn't knock stuff off of shelves, on purpose or otherwise, and he never jumps onto the kitchen counter even when his food is there and I'm not. He's never tried to scratch or bite me, he doesn't make angry noises at me when I'm brushing him (which he hates), and he doesn't get into fights or shouting matches with other cats. Even at the vet, he doesn't fight and barely struggles at all; he just sits there miserable until it's over. I could go on, but you get the picture. The point is, not only is he good, he wants to be good.

There's this rug he sometimes likes to lounge on when he's doing nothing in particular. Every once in a while, I'll see him there, and he'll make eye contact with me for a full five seconds, then carefully and deliberately start scratching the rug.

Just saying.
