How many of you play Professional Authors? I just wondered how you play them. Do you have them just sit at home and write or have them do other interesting things like book signing around the world etc.

They also have to read alot of books the more books they read the better books they produce when they write

And when your sim gets a copy of a book they just wrote in the mail it's best to have them read it right away cause sometimes the game deletes them on the next time you load the game up >.<

My game doesn't delete my sims books. I've had him store all his books in his inventory and they're fine. I just wondered what interesting things others do with their author sims. My sim makes about 8,000 simolians from all his books, he's written at least a dozen or more. Thanks for the link :) I was more interested in what interesting actions you can do with a writer sim, rather than just sit home and write.

Oh I see I misunderstood I just usually have them make use of their spare free time socializing, collecting and couple of other things

No problem, just curious as to what others do.

My writer sim doesn't read books she wrote. What's the point? She wrote it! So, for every book she writes, I go MC>advanced>books>general/written books and tick her latest book. However, she reads other books, especially cookbooks and fishing and they count for books read.
My sim is presently making 74,000 from her books. Since she makes so much, I have her doing other things and writing 2 books a week.

Because the books they write by reading them counts towards the tally of number of books read which helps increase the quality the books they write making higher Royalty payments

I've had my mystery writers solve mysteries. One that wrote biographies went around getting to know people in town and then writing about them. My sims that travel will then write adventure books or books about their travels. Things like that.
