2 Random Script errors I got with mastercontroller and plan outfit

Post by Simphobic » January 4th, 2022, 5:33 pm

99% of my script errors involve sims in cars (still very rare, but it happens) which I've heard is generally nothing to worry about. However, recently I got these two:

This one I got when I clicked the mastercontroller interaction on the town hall. I've never had it happen again though.

This one is weird. I went into plan outfit (I have mastercontroller and the integration add-on), and tried to edit my career outfit. I saw some weird pieces in the career outfit section which I believe are hidden items that the integration module unlocks somehow, like the grim reaper outfit etc. However, after I left the plan outfit window, I got 8 script errors like this one below:

2 Random Script errors I got with mastercontroller and plan outfit

Post by Chain_Reaction » January 8th, 2022, 1:57 pm

The UI error is very odd but goes off into the engine there so I can't say for sure what is causing it. Is this some kind of core modded install?

The CAS error may be caused by some broken CC. If it keeps happening try without CC installed.

Chain_Reaction,

Hello! Thank you so much!

I do have awesome mod but I was told that they were compatible with mastercontroller :S.

Regarding the other one, hmm.. I don’t use CC. Only one I can think of is the muscle slider mod fix or perhaps store content. But I never heard that there was supposed to be issues with those :S.

Chain_Reaction,

sorry to double post, but couldn’t figure out how to edit my comment.

I realized I probably missunderstood your answer. Core-modder I take as being installed into the core files like (programs(x86) > sims 3) etc. The only thing I have there is the smooth patch. Could it be possible that since that mod usually makes menus like mastercontroller’s faster, that some issue happen there. Maybe it was to fast for the game to register the button press or something like that?

I’m gonna have a look with the other one since I don’t use CC intentionally. Unless it’s a mod fix that is (like muscle slider) I’m gonna have a look at that, but the error came up after I pressed some clothing pieces that was most likely not be accessed (but the career category when using integration mod appears to unlock hidden outfits, which I guess is to access all the hidden career outfits that you get by level). Maybe there’s an issue there that you’re not supposed to be able to press them somehow from that fixer mod.

just speculation, but if you think something makes sense of this please do tell. Hehe, I’ll try more tomorrow.

Awesome mod is a core mod. Any mod that accesses the core of the game is a core mod. There are some new ones over at MTS like Liz Candor's new ones for romance and polyamory. Usually the modder says if it is a core mod. There are 2 (i think iti is only 2) here at Nrass, IIRC Errortrap and Untranslated Key.

Liz Candor's Asymetrical Romance mod is a Core Mod. Her Polyamory mod is not.

The full list of TS3 Core Mods (that we know of) available to players today is on this page, about halfway down. It should probably be replicated elsewhere since with newer mods coming out it is now relevant to players regardless of whether they are on Patch 1.69. If there are any missing on the list, please let us know and we will update it.

Of course, some players are sophisticated enough to design Core Mods for their own private enjoyment and we wouldn't know about those. We mere mortals would stand in awe of such efforts. :)

igazor,

Thanks for the answer!

The only core mod I’m using is Awesomemod (and errortrap) which I’ve heard shouldn’t be an issue together. Please do correct me if I’m wrong.

No, there is no problem with using AweseomeMod together with ErrorTrap, Those are examples of two Core Mods that do not alter or work with the same parts of the core programming, so they are fine together.

Awesome and MC instances of CAS don't usually conflict with each other, but it's not like they are designed to work together and expect each other to be there either. I think we have to turn back to Chain_Reaction, our developer, for any further insight into those errors and how one might best play around or through them.

I suppose it's possible. There is timing in events that have to line up. You said it only happened once though?

Do you recall which specific outfit you clicked and can you reproduce the error?

Chain_Reaction,

Yes it only happened once. Never again.

Same thing for the other one (I mean I got 8 scripterrors but it hasn’t happen again), I tried replicating it again. I remember pressing first some items that I noticed appearing twice in the career menu. Some dresses and some shirts.

Then I pressed some naked body parts which I believe is from the muscle slider fix mod, which seem to appear in career menu but no other category of clothes. (that fixes the muscles not appearing properly on teens and elders). However, I pressed again on those to try and replicate yet nothing. No script errors, nothing.
