Why won't that blasted mod show up in game? Hopefully we know!

I Need Help!! It Isn't Working?

Hi there! So I used to download MasterController and all the other mods similar to it before in the past and never had any trouble using them then. But now, for some reason, I can't get them to work?? I tried downloading them three times and I even took some of my mods and sliders out of my game to see if it'll work but it's still not popping up in my game. I have them in my "Mods" folder but when I go into the game, it doesn't pop up on the screen or when I click on my sim. Please, help me! Thank you!

You did remember to unzip them? Only reason I ask is I have forgotten to in the past.

Are they actually in your "Mods" folder or in the "Packages" folder inside the Mods folder? I'm assuming they're in the Packages folder as you say you have other mods but just wanted to double-check.

Did you delete the "scriptCache.package" file found in your Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder after installing the mods and before launching your game?

I deleted the "scriptCache.package" file but it still didn't work..

It's really hard to help without confirmation or being able to see your folder setup. It appears you have other mods installed according to this statement:

So do these other mods and sliders work? What type of mods are they? Scripting, tuning or do you mean clothing and hairstyles?

You could take some screenshots of your mods folder and upload them to a file-sharing website, then provide a link here so we can access them. Or you could try following the comprehensive mod installation guide at MTS (link below) to see if you can work out for yourself where it's all going wrong. :-)

It's just clothes, skins, make up, hairstyles, etc and stuff for build, that's it really. All of them are ".package" file, no script files. I took a picture of my "Mods" folder so you can see what's in it. I'm sorry I wasn't able to screenshot it, my computer's been giving me a hard time about it so I had to use my phone instead.

Your Google Drive link is restricted; please change it so that "anyone with the link" can see it.

If you click Windows key-shift-S, can you drag your cursor over the window showing your Mods folder? If not, what error do you get? If it does work, click the notification in the lower right corner to see the screenshot, and you can save it to your desktop from there.

By the way, it would be helpful to see a screenshot of the Mods folder and another one of the Packages folder inside that.

I was able to fix the link but I'm still not able to screenshot my actual computer screen because I've been having trouble with my computer for the past few days. I know how to take a screenshot, it just won't popup in my Screenshot folder. And as for the Package folder, do you mean the ".package" files in each of the folders that I have in my "Mods" folder? Cause if that's what you mean, I have a ton of them.

lovelymelly, you should create a Packages folder inside the current Mods folder and put all your folders and .package files in it, but Resource.cfg should remain in Mods folder. :)
