Family Tree Marriage Lines After Death

Post by Chicken0895 » August 30th, 2021, 8:58 pm

Awesomemod has a feature which keeps the family tree of spouses connected after death, unless the widow/widower gets into another relationship. I prefer this, since otherwise it looks no different then if they went through a nasty divorce.

I asked about replicating this when I first left Awesomemod for StoryProgression. Twallan gave me an answer at that time, but this was back in the early days of the Wikispaces site so his answer is long gone from both the internet and my memory.

Is it possible to replicate this functionality using the NRaas suite?

Unfortunately no, it doesn't look like it's possible to replicate this with the mods at this time.

Family Tree Marriage Lines After Death

Bummer... I'd love to see this happen. I had a couple that died within a day of one another and it's sad to me to see the great grandparents separated on the family tree. They sometimes flirt in the graveyard, which is cute. (my "important" sims get buried outside the mausoleum)
It would be cool if there was a way, upon death, that you get an option for a sim to become a widow or widower so the connection isn't lost. Meaning they are choosing to stay single. Thus keeping the marriage/family bond.

Among the deceased sims in Riverview, I saw those who were still married. If EA was able to do something like this, perhaps you can do it yourself manually. To begin with, it is worth waiting for the necessary ghosts to come out of the grave. After that, you can try to unite them by marriage with the help of DE or MC. But in the case I'm talking about, both sims were dead. Although sometimes the game itself forgets to divorce the sims after death one of them and as a result it turns out that the living sim is cheating on the deceased spouse with the current one

Yes, you can relink them with MC. I just meant an automated way does not exist.

This happens when an error happens during death and the code doesn't complete. Such issue of cheating is actually why it terminates the connection in the first place.
