I'm sorry, but I don't understand how I'm supposed to do that.Chain_Reaction wrote: ↑February 2nd, 2024, 9:39 amCTRL + F and look for [E] which means error and thus the issue(s). 99.9% it's missing store content or malformed XML in a custom career.

Don't worry, you don't have to. It was a reply aimed at Igazor about interpreting script errors.

Question about Nraas Bootstrap
Right. I didn't necessarily mean for Chain to give away one of his script log interpretation "secrets," but that one was very helpful (to me).
I HATE it when I have to reveal my IT super powers at work, usually to those who have no hope of understanding what I am talking about and think a functional and secure network is really all smoke, mirrors, optical illusions, and connectivity is the equivalent of a bunch of overlapping AOL accounts (okay, I need more modern analogy here...Google Spaces perhaps). But this tip doesn't really rise to quite that level.

Question about Nraas Bootstrap
Just to let you know that I had to remove both the Smooth Patch files. Just removing the Master Controller package caused a major problem with CAS. Only the top three items of any category were showing, the rest kept flashing on and off. Will the Smooth Patch still work without those files? Or must I go back to an earlier version?

Question about Nraas Bootstrap
The Smoothness Patch adds so many variables to the mix that no one, not even its creator, can likely answer that. My personal recommendation is to just drop it (all versions), but some of them will work for some players better than others.

Question about Nraas Bootstrap
This is caused by a conflict with MC Compact Mode, which I think there is a tuning toggle for in the main package of Smooth Patch. There is also Knight's edit.Elynda wrote: ↑February 2nd, 2024, 7:09 pmJust to let you know that I had to remove both the Smooth Patch files. But the general answer is yes, the packages are completely optional and you still get a lot of benefits from just using the plugin. You'll just miss out some extra optimisation, which is currently very experimental in nature.
Any time you're troubleshooting an issue with a game, it's also worth temporarily taking out the patch itself.

Question about Nraas Bootstrap
I had a poke into EA's scripts and found that the ballet barre got patched into the main Sims3StoreObjects file, which solves the mystery of why it isn't in the log. It does create a new mystery in why that mod is throwing errors, but it's more likely an issue on the creator's side than yours.

Question about Nraas Bootstrap
I'll keep some of my secrets, like how I make it through my programming all nighters without coffee. But I'm fine with sharing some of them. I mean you guys usually make it here before me so if they can be put to good use it works for me.igazor wrote: ↑February 2nd, 2024, 11:59 amRight. Question about Nraas Bootstrap
Well, things seem to be running 'smoothly' enough now. And I'll give that creator (jaylobday) time to work on that ballet career before I look into it again. Meantime, thanks Cardinal Sims, Chain Reaction and Igazor for all your help.

Question about Nraas Bootstrap
I know techies who claim to function just fine without coffee. I've been to their houses. And even when they tidy up before my arrival (which they don't really have to do just for me), there's clear evidence of rampant tea making and spent Mountain Dew bottles all over the place. The younger ones might trend towards Jolt and Monster cans under the sofa. Sorry, but that doesn't fool anyone. It's all the same elixir in different forms.Chain_Reaction post_id=99308 time=1706953320 user_id=2 wrote: I'll keep some of my secrets, like how I make it through my programming all nighters without coffee.
