Long story short, in one of the worlds I'm making, I don't want teenagers of a specific caste to date outside of their caste - but I want adults to be able to date outside of their caste - is there any way i can make this happen aside from manually adding another caste to everyone when they become teenagers and manually removing it when they become adults?

Is the original caste Automatic (what are its criteria for membership) or a Manual one?

If you create a caste for teenagers and set it automatic, depends on your settings and restrictions, only teenagers will be effected
the priority setting is also important.

The original caste is a manual one - basically this world has a binary gender system that has nothing to do with male or female, so I have to assign the caste for their new gender manually - what I want is maybe to have a caste that gets auto-assigned when they have caste S and teenager (and another caste that gets assigned when they have caste V and teenager) and gets auto-removed when they don't have teenager anymore - or some other finagling that makes it that i don't have to manually assign a new caste to everyone when they age up to teen and remove it when they age up to adult

Right, I was afraid of that. If the first caste had been Automatic, then you could have created a new higher priority Automatic caste based on its criteria + teenager But for now, I don't believe we have a way to specify Manual caste membership as a criterion for a different caste's membership. I think this might be on the suggestion list already for a future release of SP.

You might be able to cook up something odd like forcing all of the members of the first caste into a particular Zodiac sign and then use that as the first criterion, but that can have other unwanted implications when it comes to Zodiac signs being a part of the attraction system formula.

C-Dark - sorry, I don't see where any of that gets the OP where they want to go since the first caste has no definable criteria. Maybe I am missing something?.

I think I *may* have found a mod that makes the zodiac irrelevant with regards to romantic attraction - just in case, do you think I might be able to have instructions on how to finagle this if I'm able to make the zodiac signs a criterion?

if the teenagers get a manual caste S or V and there is another caste like ST and VT (T for Teenagers) with higher priority and automatic which requires caste S or V + valid only age teenagers, wouldn't this work?

That would be perfect yes, and then we could forget about my goofy workaround idea which admittedly wasn't very well through out on my part. But how do you require caste membership in one caste in the criteria for caste membership of another? Has this kind of requirement option been added to SP while I wasn't looking?

I just looked it up in-game and yes in the caste options itself there is no general caste: deny or require like it is under town or sim option -> Chain_Reaction this would be a helpful option, if possible here

But under Flirt, Romance, Friendship is a deny and require caste option, maybe this could help the OP too, depending on what the goal of the castes are.

Also, quick question: does caste priority go up or down? Like, is 2 higher priority than 1 or is 1 higher priority than 2?
