So I've been playing with pretty much the same SP settings since I first installed the mod and figured out what the setting do, only some minor tweaks here and there as I learned more about SP settings and how they work in the game. Anyway, since that time I've had my SP settings for school hours set the same. While I don't have kids take summers off, the way we do here in the US, I did switch it so kids have a 3 day weekend every summer. ie: Fri, Sat and Sun off. This has always worked fine, with the exception of the game occasionally popping a message saying my kids "skipped" on a field trip day...but it never affected anything for my Sims panel and I never got buses showing up on Fridays and never had townies kids get pushed there either. Yet for some reason it suddenly stopped working. I'm still in summer and the game is sending the bus as well as showing my kid as "skipping school". Though I'm not 100% sure I don't think I saw any townie kids getting pushed to school outside of my household so it's a mixed bag of glitch.
I checked my settings to be sure they didn't get reset or something and it's still set to Fri, Sat and Sun off during summer. Again, the bus still shows up and it says in my child's panel that my kid is skipping school. Any ideas how to fix this?

I think these are possibilities
1.have you added any other mods in between this time period that the problem showed up
2. Have you edited school lot in edit town
Many things may modify game's script so A.cleaning up the script package and other pachage in you document game folder
may help
B. Reset everything with MC may help also
And be sure you using last version of all nraas mods

No new mods and I always reset my town's every so often, usually after a few game-plays. And I clear my cache files every time before I play...which may be overkill, but it makes me feel better. LOL
What I think may have happened during this particular play (and anyone can correct me if this has no bearing) is that I saved and then exited at the wrong time of day and perhaps when I came back to the game was the same moment SP kicks on and maybe it is overlapping the time for busses being called out to school? I don't know...I need to see if this issue carries on the next time I play.
I only wonder about this because generally only save and then exit my towns shortly after the 3AM alarm that comes with Overwatch. So around 3:30am I "save as" and then exit after the save. This particular glitch happened when I left quickly by save and exiting and it was around 6-7am, so when I started the game perhaps EA standard sent the busses just as SP kicked in??

Might disabling career carpools (which disiables school bus too) help solve it too
I forgot where is this option but you can set inactive sims use taxi if they don't have car or bike

Once I have a teenager in the home, I usually turn off busses so they take their younger siblings or other teens to school. I leave carpool on for adults in most cases and if I am playing a house close to school I do make kids take a bike.

But the issue wasn't really about transport, it was that the game thought my kid is actually skipping and not just through the auto-generated game comments. It ignored my settings in a way it never has before so I panicked. I think I was right about timing though because when I played last night the next Friday was back to normal....and it was the last Friday of my Sims summer so I am glad that glitch didn't happen during that last summer Friday or I'd have had to wait for another summer to see if it was truly glitched. (My game has long seasons and lifespans.) So now I'm in Autumn so they will be going on Fridays again anyway.

Let's take a deep breath here and think about all of the useful things the OP's sims might have been able to learn in school if only their player had just let them go (yes, when it was supposedly not in session). I mean, a quality public education is meant to be a privilege, not a punishment. Right? That extra chapter of algebra or the history of Sunset Valley might have been just what they needed.

Or the other, less often explicitly stated lesson: life is unfair.

I'm in nearly 180th week in my game and the very first mother of family (vampire/werewolf/witch) which is immortal
she already maxed all skills and all achievements and hidden skills
actually my challenge is keep alive this lady and this save file and I think it's on 9th or 10th generation (I play on long life span , ~380 days life spanand its been nearly 2 years in real time
most of time I think she is the living school and university in my town so skipping school under nose of this great great .... grand mother leads to tutoring.

Funny you say this because even though my personal school experience was a nightmare, I always felt school should be year-around with more breaks here and there, like a 3 day weekend. I loved learning, it was mean & nasty humans with a lack of adult support against the bullies that I hated. (young, and overly friendly gay boys who marvel at nature, rainbows and sunsets don't do well in school...especially late 20th century U.S. Midwest schools...where even some teachers agreed with the bullies)

Totally off-topic, but JohnL83 I wish you'd gone to a school like mine. I'm not saying it was perfect, but at least when some jerk tried to start something, you'd have had three people standing up and asking what his problem was. We also had several teachers who were out to the student body, and if any of the other teachers had a problem with it, they knew better than to let it show. I remember one (straight) teacher practically yelling at the whole class for five minutes because one kid made an obnoxious comment under his breath and another kid snickered; we were actually afraid he was going to blow his top.

I guess what I wanted to say is, things do improve, at least some of the time and in some of the places.
