Story Progression / Rotational Play question

Post by AnotheLazySimmer23 » September 5th, 2023, 8:23 pm

Hiya, I have been playing Sims 2 for awhile, but am starting to dip my toes into sims 3 (steam version). There are things I really really like about Sims 3 but I miss knowing and living with the neighborhood as well as I did in Sims 2. I am trying to embrace a way to new way to play rotationally with nraas. I have spent most of the day watching videos on nraas story progression settings but I am unsure about one thing. I currently have two saves. And I want to know if nras settings are unique to each save or globally applied to your game play whichever save file you are in.

I have 4 families I made I want to play with in one save - on rotation, but I want to play my other save more legacy style focused on one family. Just to see how I feel about each style within how sims 3 functions. I am trying to embrace it as just a different game from Sims 2, But I don't know if NRAAS settings were global once set or if they reset to default per save.

Story Progression / Rotational Play question

All mod settings are stored within the game saves and are specific to each one. In fact, they are specific to each world within the save if you travel your sims around to EA locations or other worlds you have installed by way of the Traveler mod, again within the same game saves.

If you want your starting out settings to be the same for Game 2 as they were for Game 1, then Overwatch has a handy export/import mechanism that covers all of the NRaas mods that have player-set options. But they will all be default in the beginning of Game 2 otherwise.

On Rotational Play, be sure to give this page a look to see if it has anything helpful for you that perhaps the videos didn't cover. :)

Thanks so much!!! This mod is a lot, but hopefully it'll be worth it for the end product. It really is such a better game than Sims 4. Looking forward to playing with less nervousness about switching families.
