Inactive pets age too quickly

Post by aspenrose » May 12th, 2023, 7:02 pm

Hi, a few times I have had a pet in the town randomly age up to an elder when they were only about halfway through their adult lifespan. This is really annoying especially since I am playing rotationally and have some cool looking pets I would like to give a chance to autonomously have puppies. It is even more annoying when the dog was a puppy just a little while ago and its owned by one of my households. Is this caused by storyprogression? Is there any setting that I can change to fix it? Thanks

SP's aging manager is, for most players anyway, what actually prevents things like this from happening. The random age-ups of kids and pets in active households is really more a "feature" of EA-style progression.

Are you using rotational settings similar to those described here so that your rotational households, including the furballs, do not age when they are not being actively played or are you using some other kind of strategy to manage inactive aging as you go through your rotations?

The only thing I am doing is preventing some households from moving and preventing some sims from being in relationships. I guess its less "rotational gameplay" and more "hectic switching between whatever households seem interesting". I have not disabled aging, sims seem to age normally when inactive but not pets
