So i have known for a while now that dropbox hasnt really been working for me for a few weeks now.
But today i tried to download Porter and alas dropbox refuses to work with me (i would include a screenshot but i cant for some reason).
It might be my wifi but the strange thing is everything works except dropbox and its been this way for weeks...

Hi there. We have (thus far) one other member reporting the same as of yesterday. The difference is that they actually have a working Dropbox account of their own by way of their app, it's just the web interface that is refusing a connection.
Is it possible that you are using a VPN or Proxy to connect to Internet sites and services? Dropbox tends to not like that. If it doesn't seem likely or possible to sort that out right away, might you have another kind of internet connection you can use to try to connect and download?

From researching this since it's becoming common it's possible there may be a virus going around. If you open C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\hosts file in notepad, are there any IPs set to 127.0.0.1? If not is there anything in the file at all?

Just to add, if I may, what would be of interest in the hosts file Chain_Reaction mentions would be anything that isn't preceded by a "#" at the beginning of the line. By default, the file comes with a bunch of helpful text and sample IP address numbers that on any system would totally not get used by anything because the "#" line prefix means "this line is a comment and to be ignored."

Yes, sounds like you've picked up the virus. I'd run a virus scan. Then remove any IPs in there that you didn't put in there and try dropbox again. You'll have to right click and run as administrator notepad to edit that file.
