i'm assuming that if i was having trouble connecting via your website that my own account would have trouble connecting via the desktop app as well, yes? i've tried connecting through this site with different browsers on this particular computer - and i've tried the connection on two different laptops all running the same software. i'm getting nowhere. i'd also like to note that it doesn't matter where on the website that i try to grab the downloads from (i know of at least three different locations off the top of my head - the main sidebar, the updates page, and the mods list page), i get the same errors. my husband and i both have tried - i have three different computers and two different tablets (he has two different computers and one tablet) - our personal dropboxes work just fine; we both have identical issues with this website. so i guess it's a problem with our internet configurations. but i'm at a loss as to what that could be as we've not changed anything. our settings are still exactly the same as they were last january when we subscribed to this particular provider. i've been able to come and to go nraas all this time with no issues until the other say. so i have no idea what's different.

Can you connect through a different connection, just to test, such as by using a cell phone's service (not WiFi through the same router) as a tether?

i was able to turn the wi-fi on my phone off and connect through a mobile network.

The syncing app is not necessarily the same was the website proper. If you have multiple computers on your network that can't load the website then that points to something being messed up with your networking equipment (unless there is something else the computers have in common like a VPN or proxy). Reboot everything in your network that you can (router, modem, etc.) and try again.
