I thought that if an inactive kid aged up that the traits are already being assigned randomly?
I am using a mod (Twoftmama Additional Traits For Babies) that allows the game to assign more traits at birth, which helps lessen the chance of "terrible" traits.

No, not missing something, pets can't join your sim in a boat. You'll have to ask EA why, lol. I find there's quite a number of these little things that make me wonder, why didn't they, but maybe we are expecting too much.

The release notes say that a Sim will lose their job unless they are in the criminal career. But, whether this firing depends on there being witnesses is not clear to me.
