Reactions to traits?

No one knows everything this mod can do. Did you know you can tune the size of your sims nostrils with this mod? I'm kidding.

Anyway, we could debate this for years. All that said, I do understand the dog person disliking a cat person, and vise-versa but my only issue was with "Animal lovers" reacting badly to cat person, dog person, or horse person and those Sims reacting badly to an animal lover.

Well, as I mentioned above, I'm envisioning the sims to be having the following interaction.

Cat Person: So, I'm a Cat Person. Impress me.

Animal Lover: Wow, how felicitous, I'm an Animal Lover too!

Cat Person (sotto grumble): Is he kidding me with this? Comparing some milquetoast, fence-sitting, general "love of animals" to the beautiful, sacred devotion I have for Cats?

Animal Lover: You realize I can hear you, right?

Cat Person: Fantastic. Now I don't have to repeat myself. Good day to you sir. Also, we have compatible zodiac signs so we are Best Friends now.

But again, this is just my interpretation. :D

indignantgirl, according to this logic, a sim with a "virtuoso" trait should conflict with the artist. Because the artist loves all art in general, and the virtuoso loves only musical art.

Let me try to put it one more way.

An Animal Lover will throw a stick for a dog to fetch and toss a ball of yarn for a cat to play with.
A Dog/Cat Person will (I imagine) instinctively fetch the stick, play with the yarn, then hate you for tricking them into doing that.

See the difference yet? :)

I'm a cat person and I don't like people at all. But at least another cat person will understand to leave me the hell alone.

Does that make it any clearer?

I'm a vegan and love animals enough that I won't eat them and wear them and such, so on the surface I might seem like an Animal Lover by trait. But honestly, I could do without pets altogether.

No, the reality is that I'm a Cat Person who wishes she were a Dog Person. There are just so many people everywhere, that being a Dog Person would be far more convenient for me in terms of interpersonal relationships and my general well-being.

I really wish I had more Cat People in my household.

Okay, truth be told I'm really a Duck-Billed Platypus Person.

The rest of you look weird and can just leave me alone now. :D

Ohh! Good point Sara_Darkees! Never considered this. Thanks for backing me up. :D

I love animals too, my favorite is a chicken slathered in BBQ sauce, or a nice set of cow ribs or a juicy pig...I mean who doesn't love bacon?...I mean...oh wait... there goes my inappropriate/mean-spirited traits showing!
But I love veggies and meat equally, so what does that make me? Wait...shhhhh! That's not very nice...:P

Here here! MEOW...Hissss! Back off! I'm done with you all petting me!
But isn't that also just a shy trait or possibly loner? :|

You know, the sense of humor trait can be an annoying thing. Folks running around just giggling to themselves. Just remember, you're only as funny as others think you are. Or is that as you think you are? No that can't be right, my uncle Jack, RIP thought he was hilarious and 9 times out of 10 he was the only one laughing at his jokes. This gave me a chuckle...so you're certainly funnier than Uncle Jack.

"Not a lot of people know this, but I am actually very famous."

I could have sworn this was a famous quote. But according to the wise GoogleMonster, the only one who ever said it exactly that way was me, on this very forum, four years ago. Go figure.

Grumpy, loner, mean-spirited perhaps, and we really need "perpetually unamused" as a trait, easily distinguished from the boring "no sense of humor" one by the signature icy stare. But shy, definitely not. I've never met a cat that was the least bit shy about telling people to back the * off.

Also, you're giving yourself away as nowhere near mean-spirited by neglecting to mention veal.

This explains so much. What does it explain? ...Um, stuff.
