Hello,

I'm currently playing with MasterController (plus Cheats module), ErrorTrap, Overwatch, Saver, Traveler, and Register. I haven't toggled with the Register settings at all; "Allow Resident Assignment" has been set to its default setting (false) since I started my current save.

However, despite this, I noticed that--after aging up to Young Adult--a former Townie teen has become the consignment store clerk. She's definitely the same Sim; other members of my household have maintained their relationships with her from when she was a teen. She's also the only Townie I've noticed this happening to so far. I switched to her former household to investigate and found she is no longer a member. I'm assuming she must have somehow become homeless, and was therefore seen as eligible to fill the role (but I could be wrong).

Assuming I'm correct about the homelessness part, I'm wondering if anyone knows why this might have happened, and if there's a way to prevent it from happening to other Townies in the future. Thanks in advance for the help; everyone I've encountered on here has always been so polite, prompt, and knowledgeable.

The only reliable way to prevent this from happening is with a modded form of story progression, for example NRaas SP. Without that, EA mechanics will sometimes kick sims out of houses if those houses don't have enough beds or are over the 8-sim limit, or if the game thinks the town's population is too crowded, or occasionally for no apparent reason at all.

I used to see this happen occasionally, before I was playing with SP. I could usually fix it if I caught it in time, but the household in question would be unstable—the same sim or a different one might later get pushed out again.
