Help

Post by sbr2687 » February 3rd, 2024, 7:23 am

Ive downloaded and unzipped all the nraas mods I wanted. I've downloaded the framework mods folder (even tried creating my own), I've made a new sims 3 folder and moved everything there. I literally put the nraas mods in EVERY packages folder I found in the sims 3 and I CANNOT get master controller or any of them to work. I DO NOT have a script cache to delete. I have literally tried everything I could find but cannot get these to work in my game at all. What gives?

I'm not sure from what you are describing, but did you only recreate the folder structure? You also need the resource.cfg file.
The framework supplied with the recommended tutorial includes the resource.cfg as well as two test mods (nointro and nobuildsparkles) Do the test mods work for you? Or did you use a different source for setting up your framework? If so, could you try the one I linked?
Also not sure what you mean with 'every packages folder,' there should only be one.

If you don't have a script cache plus the other four usual cache files, then (with or without mods) the TS3 game folder you are looking at is not the one the game is using and there must be another one somewhere on your system. The expected location, where it should be, is in the user's Documents folder. But on Win 10/11 installations, if OneDrive is not deactivated the game can easily confuse OD's Documents folder with the correct one and establish/read from a game folder in there.

I don't know if its rude to piggyback off of this. I believe I am having the same problem. I don't know if its the onedrive getting in the way or that I have more than one hard drive in my computer. I finally found the only intance of the Sims 3 Document folder I can find and followed all the instructions, but the mods just aren't taking in my game. What would be the best way to fix this? How can I find the correct folder?
