Adjusting date calls

Post by Glimmer » February 19th, 2024, 4:49 pm

I don't necessarily hate getting random calls for dates, but the way they're handled by default is a bit ridiculous, so I've got a couple of questions about adjusting them to make them more bearable:

1. My sim often gets calls to go on a date at like 6:30-7AM while they're still sleeping. I've started just ignoring calls if they're still sleeping, but is it instead possible to adjust the valid hours for when a call for a date can take place? I've tried looking around for an obvious way to do this with Retuner, but I haven't had any luck so far.

2. The lots that sims pick to go to for dates are usually terrible. I often get dates where we go to meet up at the criminal building, or at the junkyard, instead of one of the numerous parks or bars/restaurants. Is there some way of setting which lots are valid for dates?

I found this post that our previous Dear Leader wrote for Retuner:

This mod might help, too:

Those all seem to be about reducing the frequency of the calls, or disabling them. I'm more interested in changing the time frame for when calls can occur, and which lots sims pick for dates.

Adjusting date calls

If the sim has a job, it's set to call x hours after work. X being at miniumum the first value in Sims3.Gameplay.Socalizing / AttractionNPCBehaviorController / kDateHoursToCallAfterWork and at max the second value in it.

If they don't work then it uses Sims3.Gameplay.Controllers / PhoneService / kHourItsTooEarlyToCall and kHourItsTooLateToCall. Note changing these affect all other calls as well.

Afraid the lots selected aren't tunable as it just pulls from all community lots.

I was looking at kDateHoursToCallAfterWork in Retuner before, but it wasn't at all obvious to me what it actually did. I should pay attention to who's actually been calling me at 7AM. I wonder if it's just been all the criminals.

That's a shame. I guess I'll have to be content with romantic dates at the junkyard.
