Vector and Simmunity

Post by kimlupai » January 29th, 2024, 8:37 pm

I noticed in the release notes for Vector that it said, "Added coding to handle the new "Simmunity" life-time reward". I wondered if anyone knows what this entails. I'm guessing that it only gives sims immunity to minor diseases like colds and simfluenza, but I was hoping it might give immunity to Zombie Scourge as well.

I have plans for a game where I really need certain inactive townies to be immune to Zombie Scourge.

Thank you.

Theres no immunity to those zombie dieases I don't recommend play with those on a normal game your entire town will be turned and with zombie rage your entire town will die off I had alot of script errors with zombie rage like sims graves will be dupicated and the grim reaper will glitch out randomly with that mod I think the zombie modules are unstable I don't recommend playing with them extremely buggy.

Thank you for letting me know that there's no immunity. I'm playing with Zombie Scourge and everything has been fine so far. For this particular game, I wanted the entire town infected but would then have liked the children of my active family to be able to move out (hence why I wanted the immunity). If there is no immunity I guess I will have to rethink things.

The reward should give immunity to all vectors from what I can see.

If only you had reported those issues and showed those script errors so it could have been determined if this was user error or if they actually have issues that could potentially be fixed rather than simply broad brushing them with disapproval that helps no one.

You never worked on vector why are you quick to defend theses mods I personally don't like the zombies ones I never saw you work on or release any new versions of vector. those were not your mods to begin with your not twallan. I know is that I expericed alot save breaking bugs with the zombie vector modules. I think the game bugs out because the grim reaper fails to reaps sims or never gets around it sim I think untell someone creates a muti-grim reaper or a faster reaper mod that mod is going to cause the game to glitch out because alot of sims will die with the zombie rage module and grim reaper is too slow at reaping sims who die and can't keep up.

Thank you so much for checking this for me Chain-Reaction. I appreciate you taking the time. I had been trying to think of a workaround for the game I hoped to play and hadn't had a huge amount of luck, so this is great news.

Byersanthony2021 - The most recent couple of updates of Vector are Chain's work. We are all actually very grateful that he is not someone who retired from TS3 and modding over ten years ago now. It really shouldn't have to be said, but being rude to a developer who has examined the scripting and played around with, whether or not they formally worked on or released an update for, a mod because no one reported a potential issue with it until now, is not a productive exercise.

Bug reports are fine. But we will thank you in advance to keep assessments like who is not Twallan and who exactly performs what work here and what value it has to yourself in the future.

Because without twallan script modding likely wouldn't even exist and this game would never have had the longevity it has. They are the most well written mods for this game given he was a professional software developer and though they aren't perfect I am confident nothing here is "extremely buggy".

The latest Vector release is credited to me but that is moot.

I'll wait for you to find where I have ever claimed to be twallan or even superior than him. You'll never find it. However he is no longer here and last time I looked no one else stepped up to 1) update them, 2) fix bugs, 3) add features to them, 4) relocate thousands of pages of docs, 5) build a new site, 6) keep it operating and 7) pay for it but yours truly. So absolutely, they aren't my mods but considering I've been looking after them over 10 years now as much as I have time to, I at least have some sort of common law marriage with them if you will. Though I've never asked the community for anything, it would be appreciated to consider my contributions before announcing I am "not twallan".

I think you would have found a much more welcoming response if you had not attempted to shoe your "bug report" into another users thread with 1) inaccurate information, 2) none of the errors you experienced and 3) considering a bug report to be "I don't recommend playing it, it's extremely buggy". But thank you, I've noted your issues.

I've missed a 'hug' reaction option before, but never more than now.
