Problem with blacklisting / CASP Editor?

Just popping in here to point out that 7zip handles rar files in addition to 7zs, regular zips, and other less often seen forms of compression. It's FOSS (Free and Open-Sourced Software), so although it does need to be updated occasionally there are no nag screens to purchase anything. :)

Thanks igazor. I'd forgotten about 7zip. :-)

How is 'Nraas' supposed to be pronounced?
I don't even know the true answer to this one, I just work here. :P

I think Sarah is right though but no one ever asked how we should be pronouncing it when twallan was around. I mean how do we even pronounce twallan?

It's one of those interesting situations where I've been interacting with it just about daily for over a decade now but never verbalize it. Thankfully I've never had to be one of those talking heads on YouTube or I'm liable to call it "that orange site my mom hates the color of". Anytime she's over I often have it up on my one monitor she asks me when I'm going to change the color of it. "I can't, it's iconic" I explain each time to her disapproval.

(scribbles notes on a pad and strokes chin thoughtfully) Very interesting. Today we have learned that our beloved lead developer took up coding and subsequently management of the NRaas mod collection to satisfy a subconscious need to annoy his mother.

Not really sure what, if anything, we can do with this discovery or how to use it to our advantage. :)

It's Allan with a 'tw' in front of it - 'tw-allan'. ;-) Presumably pronounced like 'tw-eet'.

My curiosity got the better of me....and look what I found. :-o

I've pronounced NRAAS as "en-rass" and Twallan as "twaw-llen" this whole time.

I've also never been able to get 7zip to open .zip files directly on download. I have to save them to the downloads folder, then right-click and "open archive with 7zip." No idea why, and yes I do have .zip associated with 7zip.

Problem with blacklisting / CASP Editor?

Post by JenniferB » January 24th, 2024, 8:40 pm

Hello ! I'm sorry to revive this topic (I hope I'm not doing something wrong) but I have a fairly similar problem with CASP Editor. When I launch it, it shows me my installed CCs, but when I try to select an EP/SP, or even the base game, I don't have any content displayed. It seems to me that it worked when I installed it a year ago, but now it's impossible to access the files. I specify that the games are installed on my disk C: and my data on the disk D:, but I don't think it's related since I haven't modified anything since I installed and tested the mod ago 1 year.

I am on Windows 10, with version 1.5 of CASP Editor, unzipped correctly with WinRar. I even tried to redo the installation just in case, in different locations, it didn't change anything.

Thanks in advance for your precious help !

what do you mean with your data?
CASP editor only reads CC installed through the Launcher, not other content under mods f.i., then it won't show anything.
From your Documents - Electronic Arts - The Sims 3 folder, the dccache.

You have a disc install patch 1.67?

Sorry, my English is not very good. I'm talking about the folder that contains saves, downloads, mods, cache files, etc. This is in my D: directory, but the games are installed in my C: directory. I don't know if this is related, but in any case I haven't found any way to specify a path if that's what's causing the problem.

I know it doesn't show custom content other than DCCache, but I'm talking about EA content in each pack, nothing appears, all SP or EP are empty when I select them at the bottom left of the CASP Editor.Only content in the "Installed custom content" category seems to appear without problem.

Indeed I forgot to specify it but I am obviously using disk version 1.67.
