Hi everyone! using the tricks bar I tried to insert this: snapobjectstogrid false/true, only it tells me unknown command and I can't insert it! How come?

To move an object without the snap to grid
use simply
hold down ALT while moving

Because it's a cheat for sims 2 and not 3. You don't need it in 3 as C-Dark explained.

The correct cheat for Sims 3 is as follows:

disableSnappingToSlotsOnAlt (choose on or off)

For future reference, if you have trouble remembering a cheat, type the word "Help" in the cheat box and press enter. The list of available cheats will be displayed. Hope this helps.

Wouldn't disable, enable the Alt snapping only deactivate the ALT function, when pressed, but not the snap behaviour in general?

This cheat is used to keep cabinets (and similar modular items) from snapping together. The reason I gave the original poster this cheat is because it's the only cheat-box cheat that deals with objects snapping and I believe it's likely the cheat they read about online that was reported to be for Sims 3.
