Hello. I'm coming back to ask if there is some sort of permanent solution to this, because it keeps ocurring. And while I am able to resolve it, it's kind of exhausting having to remove the Sims 3 file off EA everytime the save won't load.

This is definitely not normal to have to keep doing. Are you noticing it occurring after you add something back to the folder?

Well, every time I run through the steps, I make sure to add back the Downloads, InstalledWorlds, Mods, SavedSims, Saves, and Options.ini files.

I realize this is a longshot, but I don't see it mentioned yet on this thread. One of the things that will trigger the "serious error" is not all that serious -- this will happen if anything within the TS3 user game folder in Documents is held locked. Just having some windows open on, for example your Mods folder or some other sub-folders within TS3, while starting up the game can trigger these. Are you routinely closing all of your open windows before trying to launch the game?

Third party anitviirus programs and OneDrive, if activated, are also known to hold onto and lock some of these files thus preventing the game from starting up properly.
