Remove Type: Taxi Driver?

Post by Turjan » December 6th, 2023, 3:48 pm

I threw a party and just invited sims I didn't know that matched some filter. One of those got added to the household, but I later noticed that the sim had "Type: Taxi Driver" in the career description. I didn't find any option to remove that, as it doesn't seem to count as a normal "service". Is there a way to do this, or is it even dangerous for the game? I don't mind if annihilating the sim is the safest option, in case that's the most prudent thing to do.

Edit: By the way, I only noticed this because all the sim's motives are frozen at max.

They are not in the npc-service category, but a little before that, where you can choose criteria like gender, traits, has or does not have a partner, and so on. And... I don't understand what problems they have? Just evict and move the sim back in if you accidentally added him to the house. Their motives and behavior should be fine. TS3 is not TC2, where an incorrect action with a certain character can corrupt the entire game. Of course, it used to be possible to destroy everything by accidentally deleting the Grim Reaper, but with the advent of Errortrap, this has ceased to be a problem.

Are you sure that this sim is a household member now?
Do you use nraas Portrait panel?
Depending on your settings, visiting sims can be displayed there too, but normally are not selective like the active Sims are.

Yes, the sim is a household member. The addition to the household happened the in-game way, via the normal dialog option that appears during a conversation at the "social" stage. The data look completely normal, the "personal" page says "Type: Resident", the Career page says "Type: Taxi Driver", and the frozen motives are still in place. Of course, I tried the usual resets.

you could simply evict the sim with Mastercontroller, then he will be homeless and a taxi driver again.

Yeah, but that would mean giving up. Fortunately, I found a solution. I used the "Set Service" function to make the sim a Repairman, then added him to the household again via MC. This time, MC cleared his service status, and another reset removed the frozen state from the motives.
