Just two quick questions:
1. To what extent do using patterns for clothes contribute to RAM usage and Save Error 12? I use patterns(not the custom patterns, just EA ones but with color customization using the wheel) extensively for my active Sims and am curious if it affects computer memory.
2. Regarding custom content in the mod folder, does it impact anything if I have it there but don't use it in my current save file? And does it only affect the game when actively used in a save?

Two quick questions
1 - Some, but very little and not likely enough to make any difference. What could be more significant would be spending lots of time in CASt per sission (Create a Style) as that function will ramp up RAM usage and it might not all be returned when resuming gameplay.
2 - It depends on the CC. It has to load into the game from its package files at startup. But it also depends on what kind of items we are talking about. How would you know if not actively controlled sims are picking up clothing items and hairs or purchasing custom cars, for example, unless you notice them on-screen in some way? Other object like furnishings and appliances, probably not so much since inactive households cannot purchase those on their own.

Two quick questions
Ah, thank you! So, I suppose for furniture, unless I use them in my save, there won't be any difference in initial memory usage when the world is loaded, whether they are present in the mod folder or not, right?

Two quick questions
My sense is yes, but again only such a small usage increase that it would be difficult to impossible to detect.
You can test this, if you had the time (of course I hope none of us are going to do this) by putting one million such package items into mods and then see if or how the game stalls on startup.

I don't quite have a million package files (I think,) but I do have a fair bit. When I take them out because I'm testing something, my game definitely starts up faster.igazor wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2023, 2:18 amMy sense is yes, but again only such a small usage increase that it would be difficult to impossible to detect.
