Can you enforce a custom gender ratio?

Post by Annabel » November 6th, 2023, 7:23 pm

I want to make a world where the gender ratio of female to male births (and thus, logically, the female:male ratio in the town at large) is heavily imbalanced - is there a way to get storyprogression to do this?

Best you can do is set Options: Pregnancy \ Newborn Gender to whichever gender you want to influence but that applies to the first pregnancy a couple has. Any after are random.

Of course if you are doing immigrating then you want to set Immigrant Gender as well.

I think you meant to say the first baby produced during a multiple birth (twins, trips, quads) here, not the first pregnancy. Or no?

Huh, the docs do make it sound like it only applies to multiples that but the code is slightly different. It doesn't appear to check for multiples at all but instead flat out sets the gender to whatever is selected there regardless of how many are being born. I was wrong about it being the first pregnancy from initial look, it appears to apply to all.
