Read it somewhere that putting too many gravestones in the game cause problems because spawning ghosts can cause the problem. So they recommend putting in the vault. Is it true? I wanted to use killing off the sim as a solution for the problematic sims but I guess not a good idea then?

And data wise, how much do they still contribute to the game? I wanted to control the number of sims by killing off them (instead of total annihilation, cause I don’t like that…) to avoid save error 12. Would it work?

When you put all graves in the vault, they simply cannot spawn. You can reduce the spawning no in Retuner too, I think default is 10.

Killing sims doesn't sound nice, why do you have so many? Birth control via SP might be a solution too, max. 1 baby. You can manually make a sim pregnant a second time if needed.

Increase the death chance by old age in SP, lower the age span.
You can make elders die by old age immediately if you use MC age up. This is a more smooth way to reduce population.

What are your "problematic" sims?

Oh when i said “killing” i meant aging them up too lol. I also limited to 1 for maximum baby but it is just an old world so there are a lot of sims. I have not found any problematic sims yet in my world but i was talking about in the future, like sims with corrupted data. Wondering if their ghost spawning might cause issues.

I was also wondering killing off sims would solve the problem that can be caused by having too many sims.

I suppose the main thing is that if you're killing sims for performance reasons, those improvements are going to be negated any times they are around as ghosts. There won't be as many sims being actively simulated during the day, but when they are spawned it doesn't make a whole lot of difference that they are dead. They're still a sim being actively simulated, and potentially one still wearing any performance intensive CAS items they had in life.

The real benefits would come from placing those graves in the mausoleum or another inventory, or disabling the ghost spawn rate as mentioned above, so that these sims aren't ever being instantiated in the world. Otherwise, they are basically still contributing to the population at the hours they're around.
