I have these ears that would randomly show up on my sims that produces a 'floating ear' glitch when on. I wish I knew the name of the CC ear so I can search and uninstall it in launcher. I used Nraas packer and it's only located in the CASthumbnails.package so it was probably installed using launcher. I'm wondering if anyone more familar with Dresser or uninstalling bad cc can help.

What you can do is
- make a folder on your desktop name "dbc test"
- AND make a folder "backup DCCache" too
- now copy all your dbc files like 0, 1, 2 (not the ebc) to both 2 new folders
- in the dbc test one rename .dbc to .package
- now test this folder with PACKER to find the one where the item is in
- open this right click with S3pe (dbc test folder)
- click in the top navi TOOLS and Search
- change little-endian to "big endian" and
- paste the instance number 0x4C71DB69179C9D9A and hit search
- from the result list -> right click and choose "go to", close the search
- mark this entry which is highlighted and click on the the Instance header of the row to sort
- now you see more than one item with the same instance number
- mark them all and right-click DELETE
- File -> save
- rename this back to .dbc and copy it to the original sims 3 dbccache folder
- overwrite the current
Now this item should be uninstalled and should not appear.

Hello C-Dark,
Thank you so much for your reply and very straightforward step by step guide!
I did every step until...
When I paste the instant number, nothing came up. So I went and did a manual search instead i.e.'click on the the Instance header of the row to sort' and scrolled until I see it. Found the exact 'CASP' that is causing the issue and DELETE it.

Then I opened the game, used Mastercontroller to 'Edit in CAS' and proceed to check accessories tab from Teen, YA, Adult, Elder but Male, Female and all clothes category and did not see it. IT'S GONE!
Thank you!

maybe I forgot to mention that the option "enable filter" must not be set
And another question
was there really only one part with this instance? Only a CASP ?
if there were more items with the same, you need to delete those too.
But I am glad that it's gone.

I have the backup dbc file that still contain the offending CAS part to test it out.
Yes, I changed it to "big endian", the 'enable filter' is unticked. I pressed 'search' which then change to 'stop'. I waited and nothing came up.

I did little too to test it.

if there were more items with the same, you need to delete those too. - Yes, I did a PACKER search on the rest of the dbc files to double check. It only was in the first dbc0. fortunately.

I didn't mean Packer,
but the additional files that an item mostly has, not only one, you can see in S3pe.
That's why you need to do the sort instance column in S3pe, to see all items with the same instance easily.
I really don't know why the search doesn't work for you.
When I use it I get results.
Can you confirm that no "empty space" at the end of the number was copied and inserted accidentally?

Oh I forgot that you can also use set filter in the buttom area
- enable "Filter active"
- enable "Filter instance"
- enter the instance number under instance
- click the button Set
Now you should see ONLY the items with the same instance, one or more

Yea, the 'search' option didn't bring up anything. But trying the bottom button area works too! This will help in the future so I don't need to manually look for it.
