so, i have a sim who is a serial cheater as a part of my family story. a while back i messed around with some settings because i didn't want non-active sims to cheat on their partners or be able to initiate romance with sims once they were in a relationship because it was happening A LOT, not realizing that i wouldn't be able to carry on with this family's story as a result.
i don't remember what settings i changed for this to happen as it was at least a year ago at this point and i do want to keep them, but i don't want it to affect households that i'm currently playing, just ones that aren't active. is there any way to make this so it only affects non-active households? if not, can anyone direct me to the settings i need to change so i can temporarily turn it back on?

Did you happen to change StoryProgression settings to block cheating town-wide? Woohooer blocks any interactions that would go against SP settings by default. But you can disable this just for user-directed actions while leaving it in place for autonomous, meaning you could have your cheating sim do whatever you want while the rest of the town honors your settings.
