To spawn a ghost only means the "already dead" sim will spook around a couple of hours and will vanish then, back to the urn (you know what happens when grim reaper comes?)

These ghosts are NONE playable.

As I said above - open the mausoleum with MC where all your normally died sims are in - well their urns/graves.
These are already dead sims and they spook as normal ghosts not playable ones.
You need to place them on a lot outside the mausoleum and then they will spawn automatically at certain time 5 hours max begin 23 in the evening.

But if you cannot wait - you can then use Debugenabler on that grave to force the ghost to spawn and spook around

You mean, no Sims have died before in your game? OK.
Well you don't need to kill a sim, just use MC to age up an elder sim and he will die normally by age.
Use the grave as you like, to spawn the ghost and when you are done, resurrect the sim with DE if you like.
