Export genetics to an archive

Post by Wilsin » November 27th, 2022, 4:01 pm

Hello! It's me again and I came back with a doubt:
Recently, my main save file got corrupted, not letting me save the game, so I need to re do stuff from where I left, and that means redoing sims since I don't know which one is corrupted, I had the idea to save an image of the values of the sliders of each sim, but that's a pretty tedious job. Now the question is: Can I export those numeric values of each slider to a text document, using nraas?
It would be great to get the values that way, if not, I'll prepare myself for a HELL of a work !

Have a great day! :D

I don't know of a way to do this specifically, but you could save your sims as CAS templates. These templates don't have any of the usual attached sim data—no skills or relationships, no inventories, etc.—so they're unlikely to be corrupted. It might be worth changing their outfits, particularly if they're currently using custom content, but that's it.

If you want to try this, take each sim into CAS, click the three dots over their thumbnail on the UI, and click the folder icon. This creates a file in SavedSims inside the Sims 3 user folder, and you can transfer these files to a new user folder if you want. When you're ready to recreate the household, open CAS, click the UI button that shows six silhouettes of sims, and you'll see a number of premade sims to choose from. Click the usual cc icon (it looks like a snowflake or asterisk) to see only the sims you've created.

Heyo!
well I was going to do that, but I meant to export the sliders' numeric values into a text document like it does with skills and such, but it seems like we can't do that with mods, yet.
Thank you for replying tho, also it gives me hopes to do the bin method to re do my save. I didn't do this at first because I thought the corruption would spread to the new city with the sims, but like you said getting rid of all cc that sim has minimizes the odds of corruption 👍
