MasterController Cheates - adding relatives

Post by ValerHimiko » August 22nd, 2022, 7:43 am

So if I get it right you are supposed to be able to add relatives to the family tree with the cheat module. I downloaded it because I wanted to add a sister to an already existing sim in the game. But what I found out is that the only relationships I could add were "friend, girlfriend, fiancee, wife, etc." Only the ones you can achieve by yourself in the game. So no parents, siblings other relatives.
I know that it should be like this Click on sim>>Nraas>>MC>> Advanced>>Family>>Add Sibling

But I don't see the "family" option. Now I don't know If the differences are because of me playing my game in a different language (cause for some reason 50% of the mod is translated and the other half is not. This makes the options often very different but usually, it's not just missing like this one. 🥲)
The only thing I found that somewhat resembles "family" were "relationships by category" or "relationships by value" So I assumed that it would be it. But that one only allows changing the ones I mentioned before.

Does anyone know what should I do? I would really appreciate if I could have this option in my game. Happens a little bit too often that I want to use it but I just can't make it happen as hard as I try.

It sounds to me like the MC Cheats add-on module is not loading for you. Without MC Cheats and just the base MC mod, there would be no Family menu of commands under Sim > Advanced because all 6 commands require the the Cheats module, thus there would be nothing left to display but an empty menu.

The commands you found under Intermediate are not the correct ones for this task, and they do not require MC Cheats.

If you indeed have both MC and MC Cheats in your Mods folder, perhaps try downloading a fresh copy of MC Cheats again to replace the one you have and clear (delete) your scriptCache file that would be on the top level of your TS3 user game folder in Documents.

I did what you said. But the problem remains unsolved. For the record, I don't think that the module is not loading. I might be wrong but I do feel like there are more options than before. But I then again I could be totally wrong as I do not remember which are the original ones and which are the add on. Any other ideas?

Take a look at the Interactions documentation again. it clearly shows which commands require MC Cheats or one of the other add-on modules and that's why I was linking to it.

Other examples:

Under Sim > Basic, do you have Go Home and Remove Outfit?
Under Sim > Intermediate, do you have Age: Absolute and Age: Relative, Fitness, Gender Preference, and Lifetime Happiness?
Under Household, do you have Evict and Family Funds?

Or another approach, if you have ErrorTrap installed or could add it, most of the script logs tell us which NRaas mods are loading if you could provide a copy of one or two of those. If you have Overwatch, its Version command will also tell us the version number of each NRaas mod you have -- what versions does it show for MC and MC Cheats?

Is there anything special about the sim in question, such as they are homeless, a Grim Reaper (now this you probably would have mentioned), or not really from the homeworld you are currently playing?

Yes. I have all of the above. Even tho the placement seems mixed up. I have Age: Absolute and Age: Relative, Fitness, and Gender Preference in advance. The good news is that I did find family just in Intermediate. The half translation had to mess it up. Wish the mods could be all in English no matter the language my game is in. Thank you for your help I would probably never look for it there. <3
