Lethal Flu?

Post by Gameboycolor » May 29th, 2022, 4:01 pm

I know there are lethal diseases but I was wondering if there was a way to make simfluenza actually lethal similar to sims 2? Is that something I could edit in the tunable file?

I think it takes a bit more work than that. The existing lethal diseases, as I understand them, can bring about death by aggravating life-threatening conditions that are already defined in the game like burning up or starving to death. Simfluenza doesn't really do that.

To my colleagues: I know the concept never really took off like Twallan though it might back in the day, but didn't we used to have a tutorial on creating custom Vector diseases?

Sorry igazor, I found a Custom Careers Tutorial but not a Custom Diseases one.

Okay, in that case I would suggest copying the existing lethal diseases and opening that file in S3PE to see how it's structured. Perhaps similar additions can be applied to the Simfluenza file. Without a tutorial, that method may take some trial and error but to me (if I had the time) it sounds like a fun thing to try.

Igazor you've always been great with your quick replies - much appreciated! I'm not the best at modding but I'll try and poke around with it to see if I can do it!
