I have recently put the 64bit OS on my mac, and have reinstalled my sims.
Before I did this, although I had installed sims via Origin, I was able to start the game directly by clicking on the sims 3 icon.
Now, the game doesn't seem to have the program in the applications folder, so I cannot find the sims3 icon.
Is there any way to start the game without going through Origin each time?
thanks

Nope, there's no way to bypass Origin. EA made sure of that.
The game itself is probably installed into Users > your username > Applications, which is the default for Origin games. You can reach the folder by clicking Macintosh HD (or whatever you've renamed your hard disk) in a Finder window. If you don't see Macintosh HD, click Finder in the upper-left corner, then Preferences > Sidebar, and check the box next to hard disks.
